Welcome to the BMR Suite software for Linux Intel. This file contains late breaking
information. If it conflicts with any information in other printed documents supplied with
the product, this should be deemed as more accurate.

New for all BMR products
i) The XBMR environment now requires a minimum of 5GB RAM to operate normally.
ii) The XBMR environment now uses the 4.19.154 kernel internally.
iii)XFS features are turned off for Linux kernels < 3.16.
iv)The product type (i.e. ABMR, CBMR, CoBMR, NBMR or TBMR) must now be set in a restore
script.
v)A new 'Verbose' verbosity level has been added to the XBMR DR environment.
v i)Added a '--convert_to_mbr' option to a restore script.
v ii)It is now possible to set the recovery verbosity from an answerfile.
v iii)Post recovery network changes in Ubuntu are now supported.
ix)The default boot mode for Custom ISOs is now text mode.
x) A dissmilar hardware check is now run by default during a recovery.
xi)Added new bmrcfg program options '--local_fs' and '--local_disks'. The `--local_fs` option uses
an internal whitelist to exclude filesystems like NFS. The `--local_disks` option prevents iscsi
drives (for example) from being added to the configuration.
xii)It is now possible to run client backups followed by a sync operation on a different target
running the XBMR environment.
xiii)Documentation for all products updated for this release.

Common Bug Fixes for all BMR products
i) Centos8 EFI backup fails to boot when recovered to an MBR host. This is now fixed.
1.1.1 ABMR

i) Now supports Dell EMC Avamar clients/servers in the range version 18.1.x to 19.4.x
inclusive.
Bug Fixes
i) Dissimilar hardware checks were being run on custom XBMR ISOs for ABMR that didn’t have
that option selected in recovery console when they were created. This is now fixed.
1.1.2 CBMR

i) Now supports IBM Spectrum Protect clients in the range version 7.1.1 to 8.1.11.0 inclusive.
Version 8.1.11.0 of the client is now included in the DR environment. Server versions
supported are 7.1.1 to 8.1.11.0.
ii) cbmrcfg runs slowly when there are lots of multipath disks. This is now improved.
iii)All log files are no longer given World read/write access. Permission is now set to 600.

authentication database must be prov ided. This is created post backup and used during a
DR sequence.
iii)Added a new client script 'nbmr_save_authdb' to generate a Dell EMC NetWorker™
authentication database.
iv)Added an extra dialogue in the XBMR recovery sequence for NBMR to supply a path to the
previously saved Dell EMC NetWorker™ authentication database.
v)Added a new option '--networker_authdb' to supply a path to the authentication database
for running script based restores.

i) Logs contained the TSM Admin password in plain text when browsing nodes/filespaces. This
is now fixed.
ii) Recovery of an encrypted RHEL 8.3 IBM Spectrum Protect backup hangs at the file restore
step if the wrong password is used. This is now fixed.
Version 9.1

i) Introduced our new CoBMR product - for supporting DR from Cohesity DataProtect backups.
ii) The CDS serv ice has been removed from all the Cristie BMR products.
iii) Created a single universal recovery environment XBMR for all Cristie BMR products.
iv) Removed all unnecessary 3rd party dependencies from the installation.
v) Now stores DHCP info for network interfaces in the config.

i) Fixed rsync lv removexattr security.selinux warning messages.
ii) Partial failures sometimes when btrfs is not root filesystem. This is now fixed.

iv) Disrec -c should turn off swap. This is now fixed.
v) ''--fake-super" rsync option causes symlinks to be created as regular files. This is now fixed.

i) The rpm, deb and tar.gz installation components are no longer contained within the product
recovery ISO file. These are now separate downloads.
ii) Now supports Centos 8.0, RHEL 8.0 and Oracle 8.0.
iii)The DR wizard has been modified to use more of the available screen.
iv)A drop-down calendar is now provided in the DR wizard to select a point-in-time date.
v)Added the ability to reduce (as well as increase) the verbosity of logging during recovery.
v i)Now supports NVME type disk targets.
v ii)Mpt drivers are not automatically added to dracut when making new initrds.
v iii)It is now possible to set the nameserver and default gateway(s) from the boot command

i) ubax prints rubbish to the screen if 'device.ini' file does not exist when doing a device scan.
This is now fixed.
ii) Recovery creates the swap file on /dev/dm devices when using multi-path. This is now fixed.
iii)When using multi-path during recovery the swap device was overwriting a partition. This is
now fixed.
iv)There was a problem with disk rescaling for large disks during recovery. This is now fixed.
v)The CDS program was continually printing '2' to the screen while running. This is now fixed.

i) ACLs were not set correctly when recovering a system which included disks formatted with
the ReiserFS file system . This is now fixed.
ii) Recovery failed when more than 64 kernel modules were loaded in the DR environment. This
is now fixed.
