ABMR Overview
ABMR is a Bare Machine Recovery solution that allows EMC Avamar users to recover machines directly from their Avamar backups.
In the event of a server failure, ABMR will automatically recover the operating system and applications so that no additional backup needs to be performed, and no additional storage or network bandwidth is required.
This means that unlike other BMR products, no separate backup application needs to be installed, managed and monitored.
ABMR is sold by EMC and leading partners worldwide.

ABMR can recover a server operating system in as little as ten minutes and multiple servers can be recovered simultaneously. A whole data centre can be recovered in just a few hours.

Install ABMR onto source servers (Prerequisite: Avamar Client is installed)
Source Systems can be Physical, Virtual or Cloud
Configure Avamar Client and ensure it is backing up all file systems (and VSS objects if Windows)
Set ABMRcfg to run as pre-sched prior to your Avamar backup.
