Ferdinand Hinds manages i2d, inc. USA and divides his time as the CEO of abusTechnology inc. in Barbados.
The focus of the organization is strategic planning, and software application development, with the goal of improving operating efficiencies.
In 2002 Ferdinand launched a research project to understand the needs for a full service EMIS application for Caribbean Schools, and in 2006 established the company abusTechnology inc. deploying abusSTAR [EMIS] currently in more than 115 schools in the Caribbean.
Ferdinand began his career in Barbados and in Manufacturing and Facilities Management. He continued his work in the US with Apple Computer, Quantum Corporation and Maxtor Corporation, before starting i2d, inc.

abusSTAR, Education Management Information System [EMIS] provides continuous assessment of student academic and non-academic activities across multiple school years. abusSTAR enables schools to manage the administrative tasks of daily school life with significantly expanded data collection for analysis, reporting, control, and management for schools and Ministries of Education, and is economically priced.
abusSTAR is delivered as a hosted service, Software as a Service [SaaS] on a WAN, or on the Web and there is no additional equipment to purchase. abusSTAR is currently deployed to 112 schools, including all Government, Secondary and Primary Schools in Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda. abusTechnology Inc. provides a comprehensive training program, and ongoing training for technical staff, administrators, teachers and parents.
