Since 1995, Villanova Theatre has received 51 nominations and six Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre from the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia.
Each year the theatre department produces a four-play season with selections chosen from a broad range of classic & contemporary plays & musicals.
Productions are directed by Villanova University Theatre Department faculty & distinguished guest artists, and are designed by resident & freelance designers.
Graduate students are the mainstay of the production season, serving as actors, stage managers, dramaturgs, and members of the production team.

Villanova Theatre is an active member of the American College Theatre Festival,
the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
Villanova Theatre productions are reviewed by the major Philadelphia & suburban media & supported by a subscriber base of over 700 patrons.

To pursue the M.A. degree in theatre or the Graduate Certificate in Practical Theatre, you must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a satisfactory academic record.
