The magic of music in five breathtaking performances

I’m excited to conduct three of my favorite symphonies from past seasons (Dvorak Symphony No. 7, Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 2 “Little Russian” and

Hanson Symphony No. 2 “Romantic”) and direct our first performance of Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms.

We look forward to an outstanding array of guest soloists, featuring our 2019 Aspiring Young Artist Winner in November, tenor Keith Boyer at our Holiday Pops in December, and the renowned soprano Christine Brewer at our season finale in April.

The St. Louis Philharmonic was once described by the famed conductor Eugene Ormandy in Time Magazine as “the finest amateur orchestra in the world”. Our professionally-trained players have the rare combination of enthusiasm, dedication and musicianship that has attracted and inspired audiences since 1860.

This prestigious orchestra is composed of over 90 talented musicians selected via auditions. They are a mix of professionals, talented amateurs and gifted student musicians.

Unique within the musical community, we are an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization.
