About Youth Fest

(a social story)

It’d be cool to go to Youth Fest this year.

It’s on Sunday 16th September 12-5pm.

It’s at Macleod Park, opposite Macleod

station.

This map shows where everything will be.

med

sensory

zone

There will be loads of people there.

There will be lots of different people at

Youth Fest, I can respect that people are

different and that’s OK.

There will be a prayer tent for people of

Muslim faith, I can go in there if I need to

pray.

There will be local bands playing different

music on three stages.

If it’s too loud I can get some head

phones, ear muffs or ear plugs, from event

HQ (see map), I just need to leave an ID

card with a photo.

There will be quiet and loud zones and I

can choose which to go to by looking at

site map.

I can do heaps of free stuff there, like

make badges, get temporary tattoos,

get my face painted, get photos, even

get my hair decorated!

The Hurricane ride is free on the day. It

spins around, goes up very high and it

makes big noises. It’s fully sik!

There will be a sports zone, I can skate,

play soccer, throw a ball around.

If I bring some money, I can get food at

the festival from a stall.

If I need to chill, I can got to the chill out

area, rest and hangout.

If I need help I can see festival staff,

they will be in purple and have a

lanyard.

Going to Youth Fest will be

super awesome!

Some things to remember:

It will be sunny/ hot: bring a sunhat and sunscreen

Or

It could be chilly, bring a jumper

If you need a straw to drink, bring your own….

The park where the festival is has
