Aerospace
Stirling has been supplying high calibre, independent andimpartial, technical engineering services to the aerospacemarket for nearly 30 years. This includes fixed and rotarywing platforms in both civil and military arenas.
These services are provided to platform manufacturers fornew aircraft designs plus modification and conversionprogrammes. Our expertise is also invaluable in support ofaccident investigations and litigation activities.
Our key strength stems from our pool of highly experiencedengineers and in-house modelling and simulation toolsets.
We have a solid track record in supporting our customers intheir interaction with the aviation authorities including theCivil Aviation Authority (CAA), the Federal AviationAdministration (FAA) and the European Aviation SafetyAgency (EASA). We are approved to the global aerospacequality standard AS9100 and are a member of the UKaerospace supply chain initiative, SC21.

Training & Simulation
Stirling has a long-standing track record of delivering highperformance training and simulation products into majordefence and worldwide R&D programmes. Our customersinclude the UK MoD and global defence organisations, suchas Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems and Agusta Westland. Ourkey technologies lie in active controls and motion cueingsystems.
Our world leading active controls offer state-of-the-artsolutions for pilot training, aircraft simulation and flight testapplications. These products are fully active, reconfigurableand capable of simulating rotary or fixed wing platforms.
Today we are proud to supply the active sticks and throttlesfor the new F-35 pilot training simulators, and continue tobreak new ground in cockpit control technology.
Additionally, our motion cueing systems offer some of themost advanced and compact Dynamic Seat and G-Seattechnology available on the market today. We havesupported training seats for the Hawk MK 128, KAI T-50Golden Eagle and the AW159 Wildcat, as well as providing anumber of customers with our generic rotary wing andgeneric fixed wing seats.
Aircraft we've Worked on

Marine
Since the early 1990s, Stirling has supported 10 worldwidenavies in the design and test of a wide range of submarinesfrom the German Type U214, and other diesel electric boats, through to the UK's Trafalgar class and the latest generationof nuclear-powered attack submarines, the Astute class.
Stirling's specialism lies in safety-critical steering, divingcontrol systems and state-of-the-art autopilot and hoversolutions that are easy to integrate and which deliverenhanced control and performance. In addition to thesecontrol systems, Stirling has the capability to develop whole-boat simulation models to support boat systemsdevelopment, performance assessments and tuning.
Energy
The energy sector is a growing market for Stirling. The company started in the conventional energy sector morethan 15 years ago supporting Oil and Gas OEMs by providing engineering design and condition monitoringservices. Stirling has since progressed to develop these capabilities within the emerging low carbon industrysectors including energy-from-waste, recycling, tidal energy, wind energy and nuclear.
Stirling’s current technology includes condition monitoring and industrial control systems. Stirling is alsodeveloping predictive wear algorithms to enable plant operators to schedule maintenance activities in accordancewith usage, rather than elapsed time.
