ABSTRACT In the chemical and other processing industries, many operations are dependent to a great extent on effective agitation and mixing of fluids. Generally, agitation refers to forcing a fluid by mecchanical means to flow in a circulatory or other pattern inside a vessel. Some problem that usually correlated to agitation are vortex, impeller’s dimension, vessel, and power consumption for rotating impeller. On this experiment, will be studied variables of agitation process and determine emphirical constant from dimensional analysis on agitation. Variable process are impeller speed, fluid type, and baffle quantity. Power needed on agitation was influenced by impeller’s rotational speed. The higher rotational speed, the bigger power will be needed. For the same rotational speed, directly proportional to fluid viscosity and baffle quantity. Emphirical constant can obtained from linear regretion multi variable.
