ABSTRACT BK.ASLAN/L231 04 020. “The ability of the Layur fish sighting (Trichius Savala) in applying to the set net catch tool (Teichi Ami)”. (Guided by Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Sudirman, MP., as the main guide and Dr. M. Abduh Ibnu Hajar, S.Pi, MP., as the member guide). The research was held on February to March in 2009, where sample took on the result of set net catch based on the catch result size availability. Total sample that took based on the smallest total lenght size until the biggest, depend on the size that got from the result for every catch. The taking sample which is done regularly based on the sample availability that got. Then continued by histology process to know the eye cone density of fish layur based on the horizontal cutting which is done in laboratory. Where the histology process steps, those are Fiksasi, Washing, Dehidrasi, Clearing, Impregnating, Embedding, Cutting, Staining. Based on the research of the sighting ability of layur fish (Trichiurus savala) which got so it can conclude that cone structure (Mosaic Cone) to fish layur that found having structure regular square pattern which connected one to another where every singgle cone rounded by four double cone. The axis of visual durability of fish layur founded the highest cone density in retina Temporal (T) zone so the direction of visual durability to Nasal (N) or to the front. The acuty of durability visual of fish layur increase in every increasing of body lenght, where the fish biggest size having value of the acuty of durability visual better than the small size fish. The maximum sighting distance of fish layur founded in difference of the smallest size fish and the biggest size fish to seeing the same object (t), where the biggest size fish having sighting distance which more far than the smallest size.

ISRA AINI/L 231 048. The Connection of Some Oseanografi Parameter with The Catch Total Result to the Purse Seine Catch Tool in Water Territory District Bulukumba of South Sulawesi. (guided by Musbir as tye main guide and Faisal amir as the member guide).

The research aim to know the connection of some oseanografi parameter like temperature, salinity, current, and wave with the catch total result to Pure seine catch tool in water territory district Bulukumba of South Sulawesi. Data of oseanografi parameter and catch result took from measuring directly in water territory by participating to the Purse Seine ship amount 30 trip. To know the connection of oseanografi parameter with the catch total result, so analyzed by using double regretion analyze.

Based on the research which had done, so it can concluded that catched fish to Purse Seine catch tool in coast Bulukumba dominated by tembang fish type (Sardinella sp), has a very real connection between current and wave with the Purse Seine catch total result, and also temperature and salinity does not have a real influence to the catch result.
