  • The Alderley Metering Control System, HAWK, has been

    designed to provide the highest level of information,

    control and availability for fiscal measurement systems. By

    combining this with simplicity of operation, due to a

    familiar WindowsTM environment, HAWK provides the ideal

    solution to meet any metering requirement.

    The system is built upon standard off-the-shelf products available

    from multiple suppliers. The system will run on any PC or server

    running under the WindowsTM operating system. Hawk provides an

    overview of the entire metering system (and associated equipment)

    via high-resolution graphical representations of the physical plant

    and process data. By using proven industrial standards it is a fully

    scalable package that can expand with site requirements.

    Component redundancy is optionally available at all levels, allowing

    redundant servers, flow computers, PLCs, I/O devices and networks.

    Our systems can integrate with standard flow computers

    manufactured by Alderley, Omni, Emerson and others.

    The system can interface to hardware equipment using standard,

    FLOW METERING SUPERVISORY SYSTEM tested protocols. This allows integration with both new and existing

    field instrumentation and equipment with minimum disruption and

    risk. Alderley has already interfaced to the following hardware:

    DCS (Distributed Control System) from Honeywell, Foxboro,

    Yokogawa

    Gas Chromatographs from Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB

    Connectivity with other systems or applications is easily achieved

    through a number of standard options:

    Modbus master / slave on either serial or Ethernet

    DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange)

    OPC (Object linking and embedding for Process Control)

    ODBC server (Open Database Connectivity)

    The latest system and process alarms are permanently displayed

    on all screens, with other alarms being available from the dedicated

    alarm screen. Alarms may also be printed and archived as required.

    Process and operator events may be displayed, printed and / or

    archived to allow a full audit trail of plant operations.

    Hardcopy reports of process data are typically printed automatically

    on a periodic basis. If required they can be stored for later retrieval.

    Standard format reports are available and may be customised to

    suit any special requirements. Real-time and historical trending is a

    standard feature of the system. Selected process data is archived

    to a local database and may be retrieved as required.

    Functionality incorporated within the base product isimplemented from proven templates in order to minimise theneed for custom software. However, flexibility is provided to allowcustomisation should the need arise. Functionality is constantlybeing added. The standard function library includes:
