Installing on Windows

1. Insert the mini adapter into a USB port on your computer.

2. Insert the included CD in your computer CD drive.

Note: If your computer does not have a CD drive, please visit the SEEKNET website at http://www.iseeknet.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=lists&catid=11%20 to download the

firmware.

3. Browse the files on CD or in driver package (extract it to your computer), double-click

autorun.exe. The screen displays:

4. Click the Install Driver button. This process might a few minutes, when the installation was

successful the screen displays:

click the button Finish to complete the installtion.

5. While the driver software was successfully installed, the REALTEK USB Wireless LAN Utility icon

also displays on the desktop and in the Windows system tray.

Note: If you remove the mini adapter, the icon will not display in the Windows system tray. When

you insert the mini adapter again, the icon returns.

Manual Installation on Windows

If the driver install failed, when you open the software the screen displays:

You should manual install the drivers. Please follow the below installation steps.

1. Find your Computer icon and right-click > Manage

2. Click Device Manager, and you will find the yellow exclamation point on the device 802.11ac NIC

3. Right-click the device 802.11ac NIC > Update Driver Software... > Browse my computer for driver

software

4. Browse the driver on your CD or on your computer, choose the Folder where drivers are stored

and click the button OK.

5. Click the button Next to install the driver, this process might a few minutes.

6. When the installation was successful the screen displays:

click the button Close to complete the installtion.

Setting Up the Adapter

Join a Network

1. Open the software REALTEK USB Wireless LAN Utility, click the Available Network on the

navigation menu, select a WiFi network and click the button Add to Profile.

2. Choose the encryption type and enter the password to join the network.

Join a Hidden Network

1) Click the Profile on the navigation menu

2) Click button Add

3) Input the Profile (custom name) and Network Name(SSID)

4) Choose the encryption type in Network Authentication and Data encryption

5) Enter the password to join the network

Manage Connection

Click the Profile on the navigation menu, and you will see the connected network.

You can Remove, Edit or Duplicate a network, Set a profile as default network.

View Connection Status

Click the General on the navigation menu, you can view the connection status.

View Connection Details

Click the Status on the navigation menu, you can view the connection details.

WiFi Statistics

Click the Statistics on the navigation menu, you can view the WiFi Statistics

WiFi Protect Setup (WPS)

Click the WiFi Protect Setup on the navigation menu to enter WPS setting.

If your WiFi router has a WPS button, this function allows you join a secure WiFi network without

selecting the network name and entering the password.

To use WPS to connect to your WiFi network:

Pin Input Config (PIN) Method

1) Open any web browser and enter your router’s address, then login in as administer.

2) Click Wi-Fi Protected Setup on your router setup page, enter your adapter’s PIN and apply it.

Push Button Config (PBC) Method

1) Make sure that your router is power on (the Power LED is lit).

2) Click the button Push Button Config (PBC) in adapter’s setup page.

3) Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your router and follow its instructions to connect

it.

Note: Different router has different setting methods, please refer to the original user manual.

Safely Remove the Adapter

NOTE: The adapter is not hot-swappable. DO NOT forcefully remove it while it is

operating, it may damage the device or cause the computer to crash.

Please click the button Safely Remove Hardware on system tray to Eject Realtek 8812BU Wireless

LAN 802.11ac USB NIC when needed.

Uninstall the Adapter’s Software

You can remove the mini adapter software.

Select Start > All Programs > REALTEK USB Wireless LAN Utility > Uninstall

Installing on Mac OS

Check your operating system version before installing, it only support Mac OS X 10.9 ~ 10.12

1. Please copy all the files from CD to your computer(or download driver package and extract it to

your computer), the driver CD screen displays:

2. Browse the files and find the folder Driver > Mac

3. Select the folder MacOS 10.9_MacOS 10.12

4. Double-click the file Installer.pkg to install the setup software.

5. Click the button Continue to start the installtion, and follow the steps to click the button Continue

6. Click the button Agree to enter the next step

7. Click the button Install to enter the next step.

8. Input your power-on password , then click the button Install Software. If no password please

directly click the button Install Software.

9. Click the button Continue Installation to enter the next step.

This process might a few minutes.

10. When The installation was successful the screen displays:

Click the button Restart to restart your computer to complete the installation.

11. After you restart the computer, you can view the adapter’s connection in the status bar. Choose

a network and click the Connect button, in the Security Key (Password) field, enter the network

password to join a network.

Questions and Answers

1. Which network should I use?

If you are connected to the Advanced Wi-Fi Modem or Extender from a close distance, 5G is the better

choice.

At farther distances, connect to the 2.4G network.

If you are having issues with one network, try connecting to the other one. You can switch between

the two networks at any time.

2. It only connect to the 2.4G network, I don’t see the 5G network on my device?

If you want a 5G signal, you must have a dual band WiFi Router. If you only have a traditional 2.4G

WiFi Router, you will not see the 5G network and your computer only be able to connect to the 2.4G

network.

3. Can I use it on my Macbook, Xbox 360?

The adapter support Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista(32/64 bit), Mac OS X 10.9 ~ 10.12, Linux (kernel

2.6.18 ~ 4.4).

NOT support Windows XP.

Your computer must have a standard USB port and meet the system's requirement.

4. My old computer only has USB 2.0 ports, will it work on my PC?

The adapter embedded USB 3.0 connector, it compatible with USB 2.0

NOTE: Based on our test results, some PCs can only transmit WiFi speed max. 70Mbps over USB 2.0

5. Can I use it on smart TV or a car?

It only can be used on computer, therefore, it not support smart TV or car.

6. How can I install the drivers?

You can find a installation CD in the box, or download the drivers and software from the link

7. What the speeds of connection? I had a slow internet connection.

The max. speed up to 867Mbps just works when you connect to a 5G network, otherwise, it just run

at the max. speed of 400Mbps on 2.4G. The speed depends on your broadband internet.

Besides, 2.4G is more susceptible to interference from microwaves, cordless phones, baby monitors,

and neighbour's Wi-Fi.

8. Does the adapter can be used as a AP?

No, the adapter only receive WiFi and boost your computer's network speeds.

NOTE: The adapter will not boost the speed of original router.

9. Does it need an antenna?

The adapter built-in internal PIFA antenna, you don't need an extra antenna.

10. What is MU-MIMO?

Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output - better known as MU-MIMO, allows a Wi-Fi router to

communicate with multiple devices simultaneously, which increases the capacity and efficiency of

your router, allowing it to handle more Wi-Fi intensive activities such as streaming and gaming, it will

increasingly improve your Wi-Fi experience.This adapter with MU-MIMO enabled,to use MU-MIMO,

you must first have a router that supports the technology.
