Provide a brief justification: The financial services industry has quickly developed into a highly competitive, personal relationship driven business. With the passage of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999, financial holding companies were given the opportunity to offer many nontraditional bank products and services. This has provided tremendous opportunities for revenue growth, diversification and development of broad, long-term customer relationships. However, it has also provided a significant challenge to traditional bank cultures who were more “order takers” than “sales people”. This course is designed to help students who have an interest in working in the financial services industry develop their business development and personal relationship skills. This will enable the student to significantly impact their employer’s ability to increase market share, retain existing customers and positively impact overall profitability.

Dear Jason, Dear Eckhard, I'm writing to indicate NSU's desire to change the prerequisite listed for GER 380 "Deutschland Heute" from GER 311 & 312 to GER 202. This need not affect the prerequisite on your campus if you want to keep it as is at SDSU, but since it is a common course for SDSU and NSU, we need to ask if you would allow us to change the prereq to GER 202 here on Northern's campus. Let me know if this would be amenable to you. It would mean that students need not wait until their senior year to take the course, which is only offered here every three years. Thank you for your consideration! Yours, Ginny Ginny Lewis, Ph.D. Chair, Dept. of Languages, Literature, and Communication Studies Associate Professor of German (605)626-7696 Northern State University Be You. Be Us. Be Northern. Justification for all changes noted above: GER 311 and 312 are taught only rarely at NSU, necessitating pre-requisite overrides for students wishing to enroll in GER 380. As GER 380 is a 300-level course, GER 202 is a logical requirement, especially given that GER 202 serves as a prerequisite for most 400-level German courses taught within the regental system. SDSU is the only other campus that offers GER 380, and they have indicated their assent to the prerequisite change requested by NSU. Concerning the title change, the course title shows up as misspelled in course inventory. The correct spelling needs to be restored. Section 3. Other Course Information
