The Smoke Signal April 2017 Volume 56 Issue 4 ACC FUNDRAISER INFORMATION - Deadline for Turning in Tickets is April 25! Turn in ticket stubs to the offices. - If you have already sold your 5 and wish to sell another 5 please let us know. We will reward you with a $20 F&B Credit. - For those who did not sell their tickets, we are asking you to sell at least 1ticket for yourself and have a chance for the cash. If everyone who turned in their tickets did this it would be another $2,000 for the club! - Saturday, May 6 is the Drawing and Party. - 7 Tickets will be drawn for cash, and we will have free food and live music. Money raised goes to: new furniture in the sandtrap lounge, enhance the golf shop and pool snack bar area, asphalt a parking pad for the driving range, upgrade the fitness center, purchase a blow up movie screen and outdoor grill for the pool and patio, renovate the lady’s restroom, and much more if we have the right funds. For those wondering if you can do it? YES you can. It is only once a year, and the results make a HUGE impact on making our club better. Do you take pride in your club? Taking pride in your club can be as easy as filling in your divots, repairing ball marks on the greens, abiding by cart rules, raking bunkers properly, disposing of your cigarette butts where needed, supporting the club by putting straw out on a Monday work day, picking up trash on the ground, thanking a server or a staff member for going over and beyond their “job requirements,” dropping a comment in the comment box with any concern you have, and many other things. There is an old saying my coach used to preach, “You are who you are when nobody else is around.” I have gotten in the habit of practicing good habits when nobody is watching. A perfect example is playing late afternoon rounds of golf. It would be easy to drive close to the greens and not fix ball marks so you can fly around and play in record time. However, I find myself abiding by the policies set forth from the club because all these things are necessary for making our club the best it can be. I encourage you to do the same thing, and I ask you: Who are you when nobody else is around? Take Pride Folks and make your club the best it can be!
