Brisbane City Council is growing your lifestyle with the construction of a new riverwalk and riverhub at the City Botanic Gardens. The project will transform access to the river, giving you new ways to explore Brisbane and connect with the people and places that make our city great. The new riverwalk will stretch more than 150 metres from the City Reach Boardwalk at the corner of Alice and Edward streets in the CBD, to Bunya Walk in the City Botanic Gardens.

The design includes a two-way, separated cyclist and pedestrian pathway, as well as a viewing platform to enjoy impressive sights of the Brisbane River and iconic Story Bridge. The new walk will give everyone room to enjoy the surroundings at their own pace.

Being active and enjoying the Brisbane River will also become easier with a new recreational river hub to be constructed off the riverwalk. The new facility will provide more ways to access and enjoy our river, including tour boat pick-up and drop-off, kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boarders and potential future on-demand water taxi services.

A welcome addition to the city, these new facilities will provide residents and visitors with exciting new ways to travel and have fun by the water. The project is just one way Council is creating more to see and do in a clean and green Brisbane.
