ACEA Biosciences’ RTCA (Real-Time Cell-Analyser) systems monitor cellular events by measuring electrical impedance across inter-digitated microelectrodes integrated on the bottom of its special tissue culture plates.

Label-Free Assays require no expensive labels or reporters Real-Time Data is collected automatically & analysed continuously in real-time throughout the entire

experiment (significantly improving upon ‘end point’ assay results) Precise Quantitative measure of cell growth provides greater than 2 logs of dynamic range, with

well-to-well co-efficient variation typically less than 10% Non-Invasive Electronic measurement does not interfere with cell growth or assays Easy to Use User friendly software, simple assay set up (simplifies operation & training)

Increase Speed of Discovery

RTCA systems provide continuous real-time data on cellular growth and response across the entire timeframe of the experiment (not just an individual time point like other analysers).

Consumables & Accessories

John Morris Scientific has an extensive range of consumables & accessories for all Acea Biosciences analysers.

Major benefits for biological assays over conventional approaches:

The Technology

Label-freedetection Non-invasive,real-timemonitoring Automatedmeasurement Easyset-up,operationandcontrol

Highinformationcontent Highsensitivityandaccuracy Broadrangeofapplications

View the impact of adjustments to the experiment in real-time & the continuous change over time (not just an individual time point like other analysers).

This new microelectronic sensing system represents one of the first integrations of electronic methodology and cell-based assays.

The instruments are a proprietary microelectronic biosensor system for cell-based assays.

The core of the system is the microelectronic cell sensor arrays that are integrated into the bottom of E-Plate 16 or the bottom of CIM-Plate 16 upper chamber. Measuring the electronic impedance of these sensor electrodes allows changes in cells on the electrodes to be detected and monitored.

Cell viability, cell number, cell morphology and degree of adhesion all affect electrode impedance.
