Project introduction APEC economies are addressing the threat of global

climate change by many technologies and methodologies.

Gas-fired cogeneration is an advanced technology.– provide cleaner electricity to the grid– provide centralized heat/cold supply to the residents and buildings– effectively reduce carbon intensity

Questions/issues to be addressed before this technology widely promoted and applied– How can this advanced technology be applied effectively as a solution to

meet the needs of low-carbon communities?– How to assess and calculate the amount of carbon emission to be reduced

by application of this technology?

The objective of this project: to create a framework of necessary theoretical basis for the widely application of the gas-fired cogeneration projects in APEC economies.
