Fleischmanns became the bride of Gene Arthur Lane of Arkville July 14 in the Lexington Baptist church. Miss Tait is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Richard Tait of Westkill. Mr. Lane is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lane of Arkville. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Edward Whitehead of North Brookfield, a former pastor of the Clovesville Bible Baptist church, as is the bride’s father.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in an A-line empire gown of organza with a sweeptrain and ribboned embroidery outlining
; the neckline. She carried a cascade of yellow roses with white carnations.
The maid of honor was Vicki Faulkner of Fleischmanns. The bridesmaids were Mrs. William Kackos of New Kingston, Miss Cathy Balcom of Fleischmanns, Miss Denise McLean of Arkville. The bride’s sister, Charlene Tait, was a junior bridesmaid.
The maid of honor wore a colonial style gown of pink dotted swiss. She carried a nosegay of spring flowers. The bridesmaids wore dresses similar to the maid of honor’s in yellow dotted swiss. The junior bridesmaid wore a pink, flower-striped dress with a white, dotted swiss yolk and sleeves. The bridesmaids carried spring flowers also.
The best man was William Kackos. The ushers were Steve George, Michael DiBenedetto, William Taylor, and Wayne Lane, brother of the bridegroom, was a junior usher.
The church was decorated with gladioli, snapdragons and carnations.
Following the ceremony a reception for 135 guests was held in the Westkill community hall.
The newlyweds are living in Clovesville after a week’s trip to Niagara Falls.
The bride is a graduate of Margaretville central school and is employed by the school. Mr. Lane is also a graduate of Margaretville central and Delhi Tech and is employed with his father as an electrician.
Party Surprises Roxbury Couple
Roxbury, July 19—Thirty-five friends of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Sherwood gathered in the basement at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sherwood and surprised them with a party in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary, which was July 4.
Six tables of pinochle were played and prizes for high scores won by Mrs. Boyd Townsend and Gary Sherwood, and low score went to Mrs. Mervin Ford and Hanford Shultis. Travelling prize went to Thomas Sherwood. The guests of honor were presented with a purse of money. The party was arranged by Mrs. James Campone and Mrs. Harvey Sherwood.
