    Present Participle/Active Participle/Verb -ng

    1. AS A VERB IN PROGRESSIVE TENSE

    The teacher is explaining the lesson while the students are paying

    attention to him.

    2. AS AN ADJECTIVE

    - The singing bird is a nuri.

    The singing bird means the bird which is singing.

    - The crying baby is my little brother.

    The crying baby means the baby which is crying.

    3. S + Verbs + Object + active participle

    I saw the man standing under the tree.

    Verbs related to our physical perception: see, watch, hear, smell,

    feel, etc.

    4. The verbs keep, find, catch.

    Never keep your guest waiting outside so long

    I have ever found my student cheating during the test.

    5. -Being old, he cant walk fast.

    Being old means because he is old so because he is old, he

    cant walk fast.

    -Walking on the way to school, he saw the accident.

    Walking on the way to school means while he was walking on theway to school, while he was walking on the way to school he

    saw the accident.

    -Having watched TV, he did his homework

    It means after he had watched TV he did his home work.
