Adam Allgeyer Memorial Hockey Tournament and Scholarship

Introduction

• A former manager with General Electric Company, Steven Marshall has since accumulated over 15 years of executive experience and currently serves as chief executive officer of Altiras, a Houston-based beneficial reuse company. Altiras CEO Steven Marshall spent much of his early career working out of Ohio, where he held a board position with the Dublin High School Hockey Association (DHSHA).

Since 2002, the DHSHA has hosted an annual varsity hockey tournament in honor of Adam Allgeyer, a former member of the Dublin Club Hockey Team, who lost his life in a car accident the year prior. The tournament brings together some of the best varsity, junior varsity, and club teams in the state of Ohio, but it's about more than competition. It's about remembering the life of Adam, who loved nothing more than representing his team and sacrificing on the ice for his teammates.

Adam's life is not only honored through the tournament, but an annual scholarship is awarded, which is generally used to assist families that might not otherwise be able to afford the lofty costs associated with ice hockey. Each year, donations contributed by DHSHA members are put aside into the Allgeyer Fund. An anonymous committee works to determine deserving candidates.
