ADAST 807 line of offset printing presses

Fifty years of experience in developing offset printing presses of B3 (14 x 20 1/2 in), A2 (19 1/2 x 26 in) and B2 (20 1/2 x 29 in) formats has established a solid design foundation that has evolved into the ADAST 807, B2 (20 1/2 x 29 in) line of presses. ADAST 807 Series presses are offered in two-, four-, fi ve- and six-color confi gurations with aqueous coating and perfecting capabilities available. ADAST 807 Series presses de-liver a B2 (20 1/2 x 29 in) sheet at an affordable price built with Automation Affordable. The ADAST 807 product line is performance-built, based on state-of-art technology, ergonomics and international work safety standards. The ADAST 807 Series presses are built for the specific challenges of today’s

commercial printers, being able to produce a wide range of work on a

wide range of paper stock. Built for output, the ADAST 807 Series presses

offer Automation Affordable technol-ogy and CIP3/4 compatibility; processes

to achieve rapid make-ready time for those short-run multi-color jobs, repeat

orders and print on-demand requirements.

Performance Built on Process and Output

Press Design

Unit built construction is at the core of ADAST’s innovations and automation. Utilizing ap-plied engineering principals and integrated construction designs, ADAST 807 Series presses are built for performance and longevity. The consistent ratio of press cylinders provides for problem-free printing of standard jobs to paper thickness of 0.5 mm (0.020 in). The quick-ad-just Perfector allows for effi cient printing of double-sided jobs.

Vacuum Feeder

Two suction belts are located side-by-side on the feeder table to jointly provide problem-free transport of the sheets to the front lays. A sheet is transported free of mechanical pressure elements. The vacuum feeder provides consistent and safe feeding of paper weight from 30 to 380 g/m2.

Inking Unit

The basic design of the inker consists of 19 rollers. The ink fl ow is controlled by zoned ink keys. The ADAST 807 Series design of the ductor drive gives precise dispensing of ink and maintains quality parameters of ink density for current and repeat jobs. The inking unit distributor rollers are driven by gear wheels and rods. The precision manufacturing of the gear wheels allows these gears to be used in the inking unit in a direct gearing arrangement, thereby eliminating any secondary axial forces normally found in helical gearing. ADAST 807 gear wheels and inker confi guration guarantees the long-term reliability of the equipment. An automatic ink washer is standard equipment with an automated upstream ink roller washer with separate wash-up blade.

Control system and register control

The concept for controlling Adast 807 printing presses is completely new and makes use of a pneumatic system of control. All commands for individual steps of control and for con-trolling drives are digital over the DeviceNet industrial bus. A PLC of modern design from the Japanese company OMRON provides the heart of the system. The advanced register drives are completed by diagonal register (skewing/cocking). When adjusting printing image on one printing unit, the other units are automatically re-adjusted to keep the original image location.

Central control of press functions / PRESS AND PRE-PRESS AUTOMATION

The ADAST 807 Series presses with Auto-mation Affordable are ready for today’s Pre Press devices such as CTP (Computer-to-Plate). Using the ADACONTROL system, equipped with CIP3/4 interface to save time in setting the ink profi les and with fast semi-auto plate clamping calibrated for precise register, ADAST 807 Series presses fi t the fast workfl ow demands of today’s market and produce print jobs faster, in high quality and more profi tably securing for the printer a rapid return on his investment. The Perfector makes two color over two color printing and general two sided printing quicker, easier and more profi table. The ADAST Aqueous In-Line Coater shortens the time needed for work-and-turn jobs while offering value-added coating.

Safety and Certifi cation

The ADAST 807 Series presses are certifi ed by the Testing and Certifi cation Centre for printing presses in Wiesbaden, Germany. ADAST is the only manufacturer of printing presses within the Czech Republic obtaining GS certifi ca-tion (Geprüfte Sicherheit). This certifi cation confi rms that the ADAST press is supplied in ac-cordance with all safety requirements, and that the press complies with EU regulations. This is represented by the CE mark. The ADAST factory has ISO 9001 certifi cation.
