SignalPro 8.0 NEW FEATURES AND UPDATES

    Major Items

64-bit release version for SignalPro, SIGNAL, MSITE and TPATH

Redesigned Multipoint studies (SignalPro only). Most studies that can be runas area or route studies can now be run as multipoint studies. This fully supportsfixed WiMAX Adaptive Modulation and data rate studies for SignalPro withNetwork Design Module.

o New Multipoint-specific studies have been added, including: Uplink C/(I+N) for Multipoint networks. This predicts the total interference

at the hub for each of its channel(s) and uses this to calculate the uplinkC/(I+N) for each CPE-hub server link

Uplink availability for Multipoint networks. This predicts the totalinterference at the hub for each of its channel(s) and uses this tocalculate the uplink availability for each CPE-hub server link

Total interference at CPE. This predicts the total downlink interference

from all interfering hub sectors to each CPE. Fresnel Zone Clearance. This predicts the Fresnel zone clearance and

reports it as a floating point value for each CPE-hub link.o Multipoint study results for each CPE are displayed in a table that is easily

accessible from the main project map through one right-mouse click or in theCPE details dialog.

o Multipoint study results can be displayed on the main SignalPro project mapbased on user-customizable thematics and symbol fonts for both the CPEs andthe CPE-hub server link lines. These study plots can be exported to KML files fordisplay in Google Earth.

o The user can easily view detailed link study plots and data for any CPEs link toeither its assigned or strongest server. An additional option allows the user to

display a link study from any CPE to a focus sector, which is useful for quickwhat if server assignment investigations.

o Multipoint study options, including study setup, running and display options, canbe performed directly from the project pane.

o The current study result can be viewed as a tool tip by placing the mouse overthe CPE.

The Multipoint queries have been redesigned to provide further details and queryoptions.

Redesigned CPE database. The CPE data reflects current multipoint systemtechnology and deployments. Manufacturer-specific information is now storedas a CPE type and customer installation information is now stored as a CPE,

mapped to the CPE type associated with their radio and antenna.o Legacy multipoint projects are automatically converted to this new, easy to work

with, format.o New CPEs can be easily created by importing location (latitude/longitude or x/y)

information and the selection of the CPE type, which includes CPE parameterdefaults.

RedesignedMultipoint Network Design Module (SignalPro with the NetworkDesign Module only). This has been redesigned to rapidly provide CPE andhub/AP layout, server assignments and channel assignments for current

multipoint system technology and deployments. Many new advanced tools havebeen developed, including:

o The ability to layout new CPEs or hub sites based on street gridso Hub site layout based on user-specified capacity/loadingo A power and computationally efficient automatic channel and server assignment

    tool using simulated annealing.

New study query tool with histograms, cumulative distribution functions, studydetail reports, etc. This works for area, route and multipoint studies.

    Minor upgrades and feature adds

Import KML transmitter site files and create sectors from these locations usingtransmitter templates.

Transmitter site exports to KMZ files will only show the sectors that are set todisplay in the transmitter Map Layer dialog.

Study plot exports to TAB or SHP files will now include the study color thematics.

Link study Fresnel Zone plot can be exported to KML format to be opened andviewed in Google Earth.

Transmitter contour maps can be labeled with the sector name.

The site to point study has been updated so that, as the user moves the mousearound the project map, the link study to the focus transmitter updates in realtime.

The tool-tip function has been added. It will display basic information abouttransmitters, link end points and CPEs, including for CPEs the current studyresults.

A number of updates to the project pane to improve workflow for commonly-

performed functions. These improvements include:o Checkboxes The map layers now use a checkbox to turn on/off a layer.o Rearrange layers You can now move layers around by dragging and dropping

them within the list.o Drop Layer You can drop a specific layer through the layers context menu.o Export Layer You can export a specific layer through the layers context menu.o Route Studies The route studies have been added to the Project Pane.o Context Menus Context menus have been added and double-clicking will open

    up an items edit dialog.

Transmitter groups can be queried or filtered based on a specific assignedchannel. (SignalPro with the Network Design Module only)

When adding a new transmitter to the project map, it will be automatically added

to the currently displayed transmitter group. The icon for opening a project has a dropdown option which displays all of the

projects that are in the /EDX/projects directory.

The map legend has been updated to include the following:o Only active transmitters will be listed in the transmitter listo The map scale for standard zoom levels will display with the distance ruler.
