Faith Healing According to SAMSA more than 95% of

treatment centers use the 12 step treatment model of Alcoholics Anonymous. The 12 step model is based on spiritual principles. (more than often religious) Although an option for some, it cannot be applied for non believers. This might be especially dangerous for an individual that is coerced by the courts as it a breech of separation of church and state. (Peele, 2009)

Coercive TherapyA lot of addiction interventionists use a

coercive method to get an individual into treatment. Drug Courts use the same concept to give someone an option of treatment or prison.
