on title page, index, colophon and contents

As you finalize your book, make sure you include all the essentials that tie your book together and help readers understand how your book was created. The title page (page one of your book) should include the name of your school, complete address, school phone, website, name of your book, year, theme and volume number. It should be set in small type and feature photos that represent the theme. The contents contains all sections with theme-related titles and page numbers. It can be placed on the front endsheet or on page two or three. The colophon includes details about how the book was made. The index lists all people, events, organizations, teams and advertisers. Design the index in a style reflecting the theme page designs.

Special coverage ideasAdd a spring supplement

Consider adding a spring supplement to include events and activities that occur after your last deadline in March. Remember to design the parting page to complement the supplement’s cover. The supplement allows spring-delivered books to include prom, graduation and spring sports season results.
