FAQs
Welcome to ADI Network
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about the service we offer, so you can decide if
membership is right for you. Whether you’re looking to fill your diary with pupils, better yourself
with CPD training or benefit from exclusive offers, we’re sure we can help.
Joining up, and being a member is completely free with no commitment at all. We encourage you
to set up an account and take a look, but you’re never asked to engage with any aspect of the
service if you don’t want to. We’d hate for you to miss out though, so we’ve created this guide to
explain it all.
ADI Network helps independent and franchised instructors, as well as owners of local schools. Not
all instructors need assistance with sales, marketing and management, but for those that do, we’re
here to lend a helping hand. And you can dip in and out whenever you need to.
So, grab a cuppa and let’s get cracking...
3
How it works
4
Our reasons for doing this
Not all ADIs like sales, marketing and business. Not all have years
of experience, full diaries and an extensive referral network. They
just want to teach and earn a living. So we take away those hassles
and help them to grow and succeed.
We also want to earn a living, and providing this service helps us
do that. We’re all in business, and we want to add extra value to
the industry. It won’t make us millionaires, but the satisfaction of
helping those who need it makes up for it.
Membership is open to all UK based Approved Driving Instructors. We also work with owners of local
schools to alleviate the pressure of supplying pupils to franchisees.
We provide a range of services that support both independent and franchised driving instructors that
can be used as and when it suits. So if you don’t need any support, that’s fine, but we’re here if and
when you need us. It costs nothing but 10 minutes of your time to sign up and see for yourself.
On the next page, you’ll see a summary of membership features. We are constantly working on new
ideas and establishing partnerships with others who also provide useful services to ADIs. We want to
make this the ‘go to’ place for access to everything an ADI needs to succeed.

Student Supply
If you have a gap in your diary, we will help you fill it.
No charge and full support. Here’s how it works:
* You control whether you receive texts from us and whether you respond or not. Alternatively, you can view available students via your online account.
† Estimated lesson delivery cost of £8.75 per hour. Total 47 hours tuition (DVSA average); 43 hours @ £30/hour, the standard rate as stipulated by the offer.
Training
Continued Professional Development is vital for all ADIs. We
provide access to commercial and fully-funded training
opportunities through our partner, Any Driver.
Log into your account to learn more, select courses that
interest you and get booked on to keep current, improve
your skill set and increase your earning potential.
Deals & Discounts
We are constantly working hard to negotiate exclusive
deals on behalf of our members. We offer them to you
without charge, helping you to save on business costs.
As we add access to new products and services, including
fuel cards, insurance, car leasing, accessories and online
business support tools, we’ll keep you posted to ensure
you don’t miss out. But you have to be “in it to win it”!
A student responds to our voucher promotion, entitling
them to four hours of beginner’s tuition.
All students hold a UK provisional licence and have less
than 5 hours experience. Only one voucher per person.
If you cover their postcode and match their requirements*we SMS text you instantly with basic details.
Reply first to secure your new student and we send you
full details. They are notified too and are ready to go!
Contact them ASAP. Check you’re happy to take them on.
If not, just hand them back, otherwise get them booked in.
Deliver the initial four hours (2 x 2 hours) without charge
and prove your teaching credentials to keep them on.
All income earned after the first four hours is yours to†keep. A £35 investment to earn £1,290 .
You don’t pay us to take on a pupil and around 80% of
customers go on to complete the full course.
Risks & rewards
The core offering we provide is the supply of new,
vetted students. Unlike training and other affiliate
offers, this element of our service carries some risk
as well as reward. Here, we lay it all out for you, so
you can weigh up the pros and cons of taking on
new students supplied by us.
6
You deliver 4 hours of tuition, and the student
decides not to continue with you. This will cost
you around £35.(but at least you’ve been out and about, gaining experience and
exposure and, you never know, they may come back!)
The risks
The rewardsThe student stays on and completes
another 43 hours, earning you up to £1,290.
Students refer you, leading to new business
that you generate yourself, directly.
You haven’t had to run a website, promote
yourself or answer any awkward sales calls.
You gain experience & exposure, rather
than sitting at home watching daytime TV.
Students are pre-screened, in your area and
match the service you provide.
Retaining students
Our job is to supply you with eager, vetted beginner-drivers that are ready to learn. Your job is to
demonstrate why they should continue with you after their pre-paid 4 hours are up. Some members
find it harder than others, so here are some tips on maximizing your chances of retention:
7
Because they’re worth it
You don’t pay anything to source new
students through ADI Network, but
they should still be treated as a
valuable opportunity that is worth the
best of treatment.
Remember, each student you retain
could be worth as much as £1,290 to
you, so it’s important to treat them well
in the early stages.
First impressions last
It might seem obvious, but it’s worth
pointing out the importance of a great
first impression.
This starts by contacting a new student
at the earliest possible opportunity to
book them in. This impresses them
and keeps the good vibes flowing.
They have been sent your name, are
excited and are expecting your call.
Please don’t keep them waiting...
Of course looking smart, a clean car and
punctuality are essential, but we find the
best way to retain pupils is to get them
on the move as quickly as possible.
We furnish students with beginner
resources when they sign up, to prepare
them for your lesson. This should help
get you on the move early on, giving
them a taste of things to come and
forming a valuable bond.

What’s in it for us...
What’s in it for you...
Once we’ve successfully allocated a new student
to an instructor, we are paid a small percentage of
the original voucher cost. Our voucher partner
keeps the rest - that’s their right, having built up a
national database of over 5.4 million deal-seekers.
Our share enables us to continue improving our
state-of-the-art database system that ensures the
highest quality of service delivery; vetting
instructors and students alike, and monitoring
allocations and delivery. It also means we can
spend our time finding better deals for you, and
supporting you when you need it.
Our members see the bigger picture. They
understand that, in business, it typically takes
some effort to gain new customers.
Every ADI differs, but the largely-accepted cost
to deliver one hour of tuition is £10, covering
fuel, insurance, car payments & marketing etc.
So, delivering 4 hours without charge costs
you around £40? Not really, because you’re
gaining exposure, experience and can remove
‘marketing’ from your costs. Let’s say £35.
If you do not retain your student, it will cost
you £35 for this opportunity. Quality ADIs find
that around 2 in 10 students do not continue.
A typical example
9
The bigger picture...
But what if you do a great job of bonding with
your new customer and they want to
continue? Let’s do some maths...
Our deal stipulates that the student is saving
84%, meaning you can charge up to £30 per
hour for future lessons. For this example, let’s
assume you charge just £25 per hour.
The DVSA states that it takes an average of 47
hours tuition to pass a driving test, so we’ll
base our illustration on this figure.
We claim a retention rate of 80%. For the
avoidance of doubt, let’s base this illustration
on you achieving only 50%.
COST
Winning the student 0.00
Delivering pre-paid 4 hours 35.00
Delivering remaining 43 hours 376.25
Delivering pre-paid 4 hours 0.00
Delivering remaining 43 hours 1,075.00
PROFIT @ £30 hourly rate ... 878.75
TOTAL COST 411.25
INCOME
TOTAL INCOME 1,075.00
PROFIT @ £25 hourly rate 663.75
Over the course of a year, based on taking 50 students, with only
25 being retained (50%), your costs would total £11,156.
Your income, at £25 per hour would total £26,875. That’s with
only 50% staying on, and we know you’re better than that!
It adds up, if you consider the bigger picture...
Based on delivering a 47 hour course...

Frequently Asked Questions
Am I delivering four hours for free?
No, but you need to understand the bigger picture. You are not receiving
payment in monetary terms, but you are gaining an opportunity to win
business that you would not otherwise have. It’s an investment in your
business. Like any investment, you invest for the chance to make profit.
Can I hand back a student I don’t want?
Yes. Simply get in touch with us and explain the reason and we’ll de-allocate
the student from you and let them know.
What are students told to expect?
We make it very clear that this is an introductory deal, designed to pair
them with an ADI that they will stay with until they pass. We explain that
they’ll be tackling the basics during these four hours - cockpit drill, moving
off & stopping etc. This helps us screen those that are not really beginners
- they’d rather get a refund than continue. We also provide learning
resources for them to consider before the lesson, so you can get to the
exciting stuff more quickly. This helps to build a bond and increase the
chance of retention. We tell them to expect contact from you within 24
hours of allocation, so you must adhere to this to avoid disappointing your
new customer from the off. We also explain that just doing 4 hours would
be a complete waste of their time and money.
How many students can I take on?
As many as you need. However, you must only take on students if you can
begin teaching within 2 weeks - they are ready and waiting now.
How do SMS text notifications work?
The student registers and we instantly search for matching ADIs. You
respond with the code (only) that we quote. If you reply first, we instantly
text you contact info and send an email with their full details. If you’re not
first, or the code is wrong, we let you know.
Control the receiving of texts on the Dashboard of your online account.
How do you stop ‘deal-hoppers’?
When a student registers, we check our database to see if their driving
licence number already exists. If it does, they are told to obtain a refund,
as we only accept one voucher per person. It is good practice to check
their licence at the beginning of the first lesson, against the one we
emailed you.
To view voucher T&Cs, go to , click the “Redeem a
Voucher” link (top-right corner) and scroll to the bottom of the page.
