Adidas > Boxing Adidas do a range of Boxing equipment from the basics of gloves, trainers, tape, and stomach guards to the individuals training equipment such as a speedball or punching bag. There is a wide variety and in terms of aesthetics they are doing very well conveying their brands identity through their products in robust and vibrant colours and patterns. Through the images on the left you can see the wide range of products they have to offer for the sport of boxing. What is shocking is if they offer all this and also sponsor established boxers such as British boxer Amir Khan then why are these products not available on their official website? These images were found on boxingcorner.co.uk in which they have 90 Boxing products of Adidas. I aim to film a Boxer for one of my series and looking at the equipment and where their logos are placed etc. I need to visualize where when and how I want to portray the products. Adidas have kept with their style of showing the product belongs to them by either including the three stripes which represent their brand or the simple bold and sharp logo.

Adidas do a range of Boxing equipment from the basics of gloves, trainers, tape, and stomach guards to the individuals training equipment such as a speedball or punching bag. Adidas’s Boxing sponsorship is no way near as strong as its football and Basketball sponsorships. There are names within the list on your left who are known worldwide and have held championships. Although it is said that Adidas sponsor these people the way in which footballers and basket ballers go about advertising the merchandise is not the same and I believe this is due to the fact that the brand isn’t specialized in the sport as much. Brands such as Lonsdale, Umbro and Reebok are known for for

the sport of boxing since they were the brands who created boxing clothing and equipment for the sport only. Lonsdale is all based on boxing, their designs for the sport and not all come from the inspiration of the sport itself.

You can have Amir Khan in front of a Adidas logo wall to show collaboration however, it is clear that Adidas aren’t as specialized in this sport as they are in many others. They create the equipment at the same quality if not, better then the other brands and more people will purchase it due to the fact it is the brand who has created it. However, when looking at the sport and the brand there is no positive correlation no matter how ever many adverts there are forcing it.
