The ACCUPLACER entry assess- ment test is required if the student plans to take ENG 111 instead of ENG 101 or higher courses above the 100 levels. 4. If a student is entering from another program and desires to transfer cred- its, an official transcript is required and will be evaluated in partnership with FTCC Admissions and the Cos- metology Department. NOTE: Financial Aid is available to students in the form of grants, scholar- ships, and work study. If the student is considering financial aid, they should apply immediately. It takes 6-8 weeks for FA processing.

Nail Technology

The Manicuring/Nail Technology curriculum provides competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on funda-mentals associated with the nail techology industry. The curriculum provides and simulates a salon envi-ronment which enables students to develop manipulative skills.

Course work includes instruction in all phases of professional nail technology, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other related topics.

Graduates should be prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam and upon passing be licensed and qualify for employment in beauty and nail salons, as a platform artist, and in related businesses.
