For students completing a Science degree at UWA
Majoring in Medical Sciences Your major meets the pre-requisites.
Majoring in Pharmacology Your major meets the pre-requisites EXCEPT for microbiology. You will need to take microbiology as a broadening, elective or complementary unit.
MICR2209 (exempt from pre-req) or MICR3350 (exempt from MICR2209 pre-req) are options but anyMICR unit is acceptable
Pre-requisite areas from 2018 continued:
For students completing a Bachelor of Science with another major from UWA OR any other university
Include one unit in pharmacology and one unit in microbiology.
Year 12 chemistry or a tertiary chemistry unit. Year 12 maths or a tertiary maths or statistics unit.

Bachelor’s degree = 3 years (at least)
Master of Pharmacy (6 trimesters) = 2 years

6 years (min) = able to practise pharmacy in Australia and New Zealand

Australian undergraduate degree or equivalent – not necessarily from UWA
Competitive GPA minimum requirement GPA of 5.0

• Prerequisites information – complete and check with Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences student office

Deferrals
If you are offered a place in the Master of Pharmacy in some circumstances you can defer your place for up to one year.
English language requirement
Students need to meet the UWA English language requirement as part of the admissions process
In order to practice one of the professional courses students who completed their secondary schooling overseas must meet the APHRA English requirements.
