Ralph and Betty CampNevada

By the time this letter reaches you, we will be wishing you a blessed 2013. We are also praying you will have wonderful Christmas celebrations. What a year 2012 has been! Ralph and Betty: Seventy? Really? We do not feel that old! Yes we have our aches, and aren’t as agile as in the past. “Where are my keys?” is asked occasionally. We have decided that seventy is the new fifty!

We long to return to short-term missionary fill in! But we have not been idle. This year our ministry has been to Jenni and her family. We have been meeting with a young couple that is preparing for missionary service. It has been exciting to see God at work in their lives as we share with them the challenges and rewards of missionary life overseas. Ralph has also been active as the Civil Air Patrol Nevada Wing Chaplain, and with the Reno CAP Cadet program. God has blessed us this year. Oh, and we have had three different herds of wild horses visit our yard several times.

As many of you know, Jenni had six strokes on October 25, 2011. She had two bleeds into the brain that day, and consequently suffered four more episodes of clots showering her brain. She came home in mid-December with a multiple wheeled walker. We had a quiet family Christmas at our home. To view her stroke blog, go to: strokeofgrace.blogspot.com.

She had physical and occupational therapy several times a week. She is now having therapy once a month, supplemented by water aerobics twice a week. We take her, and I take the classes with her. Rick has been a rock through this whole time-a wonderful husband to her!

Thank you for your prayers for us and Jenni, your financial support, and the kind notes you have written. We feel God’s presence more and more as we draw closer to Him.
