Introduction to the course. This week we got into groups and decided what brief we wanted to do for our coursework. I decided that I wanted to do a music video.

Choose a song and begin to analyse the lyrics for my music video.

Post production work and planning for the music video. This week I also analysed lyrics to a song by The Rolling Stones and also started to analyse a song that we may be focussing on.

Continue to develop my ideas for my music video and continue analysing lyrics.

This week we have learned about Lacey’s repertoire of elements, I have applied this to two different genres of music videos and also the one that I am planning to create.

This week we have watched and analysed the film Rec focussing on the postmodern features included in it.

This week we have uploaded the footage to the computers of the test shots that we took over the weekend, we started to edit this on Adobe premiere.

The plan for next week is to start the 800 word ideas generation and start using Adobe premiere to edit my work.

This week I have completed my 800 words idea generation and have also started to play around with some of the test shots that I took on Adobe Premiere.

This week I have worked on my CD Digipack analysis, I have also watched The Lego Movie in class and we have worked on the postmodern terms which feature within the film. I have also uploaded some pieces of work on my blog.

This week I completed one music video analysis and uploaded my footage to the computer.

This week I completed all three of my music video analysis(Ed Sheeran – The A Team, Green Day – When September ends and Taylor Swift – Love Story) I have also worked on the style of my blog where I have changed the design.

Next week I plan to go out and shoot some more footage for my music video. The location will be in the park/the beach at Blackpool and the cast will include a male and a female character. I will be doing the filming for this part of the footage and will then upload the footage to the computers at college and start working on Adobe premiere. I will then start to edit some of my footage together and hopefully get the base of my music video.

This week I have continued working on my ancillary 1 task, I have analysed three CD Digipacks (Katy Perry – Teenage Dream, Rihanna – Loud and Green Day – American idiot)

Next week I hope to film some more footage for my music video and begin editing some of the shots on Adobe Premiere.

This week I am going to be doing a little bit of work on my coursework, I will be uploading more footage and editing it and continue to work on my ancillary 1 task. I need to take some photographs to incorporate within my ancillary 1 and 2.

Mon W/B 14/12/15(Detailed Weekly Summary)

This week I began to analyse the results I got back from my music video survey. I have created a work document with a write up of the results, giving me a clearer understanding of what my target audience are wanting to see in my music video. I will take these results into consideration when creating my own music video which will make it much more of a success with my target audience.

Next week I plan to work more on my ancillary 2. I will be looking at other music adverts and analysing them in order for me to gain a clearer understanding of what I am expected to include in mine.

Mon W/B 21/12/15(Detailed Weekly Summary)

This week I have been doing some more work on my music advert for ancillary 2 where I have been looking and analysing some other adverts which have given me inspiration and ideas in order for my own to hopefully to be more successful. I have also done some more editing on my music video.

Next week I plan to work more on my music video. I am also hoping to go out and shoot some more footage in the park with the singer in my music video. I also plan to take some more shots of the location that I could potentially include in my ancillaries.

Mon W/B 28/12/15(Detailed Weekly Summary)

This week I have been out to the park to shoot some more footage, including shots of the trees to establish the setting. I have also shot some footage of the singer in my video, although I feel that these have been slightly unsuccessful as the weather conditions were bad and also it seemed unrealistic. There were some successful elements of this as I have been able to get a substantial amount of footage although I feel that I will need to go out on a later date and take some more.

Next week I will be uploading this footage that I have shot to the computers. I will then begin to edit them into my music video on Adobe Premiere.

Mon W/B 04/01/16(Detailed Weekly Summary)

This week I have uploaded the footage that I took last week to the computer and began to edit it into my music video. I have found that part of this footage has been a success although elements do not look completely realistic. I have edited the successful parts into my music video although I feel that I may need to re-shoot some of this footage.

Next week I plan to work more on my ancillaries 1 and 2, adding in some of the shots that I took in the park previously. I will also edit some more of my music video to make it much more filled.

This week I have continued to edit my music video. I have edited more of the footage that I shot recently, filling in gaps that appear In the middle of key events which occur in my music video. I have also worked more on my ancillary 1.

Next week I will be working on my CD Digipack and my music advert. I am also planning to do some work on my music video if I have time.

This week I have done some more work on my ancillaries 1 and 2. I have also spent one day working on my music video. I have added black and white effects to my ancillaries to match my music video.

Next week I will be working more on my music video, we plan to include effects to the videos that we have uploaded to maintain more of a meaning to the video.

This week I have been working on my music video, we have I included editing techniques such as fades to add to the emotional theme of the video. We have also decided to change the video to black and white as it fits well with the lyrics and the narrative.
