The Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) is dedicated to the advancement of veterinary medical and surgical care, and conservation of reptiles and amphibians worldwide. Today, the ARAV has over 900 members from over 30 countries.
A recent American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) survey showed that there is an increasing number of US households keeping reptiles as pets. Through our Find-A-Vet service on ARAV.org pet owners are directed to an ARAV member veter-inarian. It is important to inform reptile and amphibian veterinarians of new products and services that improve the welfare, captivity requirements, medical care, and human-animal bond with this growing segment of the pet population.
Advertising with the ARAV through the Journal of Herpetological Medicine and Surgery (JHMS) and our monthly newsletter will insure that your newest innovations reach the most influential reptile and amphibian veterinarians in the field.

In March 2013 the ARAV started producing a monthly e-newsletter. It is also available to
the public on-line on our webpage at arav.org/newsletter. The newsletter contains updates from our board members, an announcement
from our technician liaison, articles from veteri-nary technicians and veterinary students, clinical
tips and tricks, conference and other continuing education announcements, links to our Facebook
page and the ARAV on-line merchandise store at Café Press. Our student and technician members
are encouraged to contribute to the newsletter and our members are encouraged to download and print the newsletter to circulate to their clinical staff. Our
newsletter is sent directly via e-mail to nearly 800 ARAV members and has an average open rate of
over 44% and a 4% click rate.
Advertising in the newsletter is a great way to not only reach our members but their staff too. All advertising in
the newsletter is through electronic means and full color is used throughout the newsletter.
The JHMS is the official publication of the ARAV and is considered a major source of peer-reviewed information re-garding herpetological medicine, surgery, and conservation for veterinarians in private practice, zoo and wildlife practice, and research, as well as biologists, veterinary technicians, veterinary and graduate students, and professional and amateur herpetologists. The journal reaches over 2000 individuals on the forefront of reptile and amphibian veterinary care, captive care, breeding,
research and conservation. In 2015 and 2016, we will publish 2 combined issues in June and December. The journal is avail-able on-line at jherpmedsurg.com and in print to our members and subscribers. We are still accepting advertisements for the second issue of 2015 and both 2016 issues. Any cover advertisements and 3-4 issue contracts will be granted gratis advertisement placement on the journal website for the duration of their contract on a first come, first serve basis.
