INTRODUCTION
What is MUSIC?
• A form of entertainment that puts sounds together in a way that people like or find interesting.
• The word music comes from the Greek word (mousike), which means "(art) of the Muses". In Ancient Greece the Muses included the goddesses of music, poetry, art, and dance. Music is an art form.
• Music comes from various sources like radio, television, IPod, MP3 players and etc. Music varies in genres, pop, rock, R&B etc.
• Strongest emotions may be brought on by listening to a piece of music and affects people in various ways from emotion regulation to cognitive development, along with providing a means for self-expression.

SURVEY OBJECTIVESThese are the primary objectives of the survey conducted:
• To find the effects of music to personality and emotion development among Electrical Engineering students of Polytechnic Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
• To identify significant types of music that builds characters among students from Electrical Engineering department.
• To discover how music helps in emotional control among Electrical Engineering students.

ANALYSIS & INTERPRETATION
• Most people AGREE that music influences one’s personality development.• High number of students AGREE that song lyrics is the major factor that contributes to a person’s personality
development.• Majority of the students (45%) PREFER pop or fast beat music and it is seem to be the SIGNIFICANT music that
helps in character building among electrical engineering students.• Approximately, 9 out of 20 students listen to music more than 8 hours in a week.• Many students AGREE that a person who listens to music radiates positive energy where the listeners seem to be
more MOTIVATED and ENERGETIC.• From overall comparison, most electrical engineering students prefer listen to music during their STUDYING TIME.• Release tension seem to be the main reason students listen to music with 30%. On the other hand, 6 out of 20
students prefer listening music to boost their energy.• From the analysis, being calm is the most significant emotion showed by the students who listen to music.• Many AGREE that music impacts one’s emotion because it makes them feel HAPPY. A small number of student
DISAGREE and claim that music is only for entertainment purpose and do not gives any effect on their feelings.

• It is proven that MUSIC gives more benefits than harm.• Relaxes a person and MUSIC definitely gives impact on an individual’s
personality and emotional development.
