INTRODUCTION

Outline:In this project report, first of all, the historical background of the

organization will be emphasized, and then its different process and objects

will be revealed and in the end over all function of the selected department

will be presented.

Purpose:The creation of this project report is a part of our course namely, DBMS.

Scope:This project report is totally based on the sales department of organization

and focuses on its functions.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF ALLIED

From the heights of to north to the plains of south, Allied is the name

recognized for offering technically efficient services. We are serving thesegments of General and Road Construction, Cement Mining, Oil & Gas

Exploration and Distribution, Agriculture and Irrigation etc.

For example, the use of Caterpillar equipment in the construction of Tarbela

Dam was a major achievement, and the trust placed in Caterpillar by the

nation has recently been reaffirmed. Caterpillar equipment being selected in

help turn over in another dream into reality, The Ghazi Barotha Hydro

Power Project.

Allied received their biggest single order worth USD 25 million for

supplying a turn key Power Plant of 44 MW to Lucky Cement situated near

Karachi.

The project includes supply, installation and commissioning of 5 Nos.

Caterpillar gas genset model 16GCM 34 each rated 5.917 MW and 2 Nos.

Heavy Furnace oil genset model 16 CM 32 each rated 7.230 MW.

The project is planned to be commissioned in March 2006

GAS ENGINES PAKISTAN - ALLIED RECEIVED THEIR BIGGEST

SINGLE ORDER WORTH USD 25 MILLION.....

Allied received their biggest single order worth USD 25 million for

supplying a turn key Power Plant of 44 MW to Lucky Cement situated near

Karachi.

The project includes supply, installation and commissioning of 5 Nos.

Caterpillar gas genset model 16GCM 34 each rated 5.917 MW and 2 Nos.

Heavy Furnace oil genset model 16 CM 32 each rated 7.230 MW.

The project is planned to be commissioned in March 2006.

CATERPILLAR EARTHMOVING MACHINES CONTRIBUTE IN

PAKISTAN'S REQUIREMENT TO MEET CEMENT PRODUCTION

AND GENERAL / ROAD CONSTRUCTION NEEDS.

In the preceding years cement requirement has increased tremendously, this

is not only due to the local needs for infrastructure development but also due

to the huge increase in export of cement to various other countries. To keep

in pace with the ever growing demand of cement, cement companies in

Pakistan are either increasing / enhancing the production capacity of their

existing plant or setting-up an entirely new plant.

Who else, other than Caterpillar the global market leader who tailor's its

equipment for various segments such as cement production, infrastructure,

road construction, agriculture can fulfill various segment demand.

Below are the few brief details of Caterpillar machines, recently sold by

Allied to various cement and constructions companies.

DG Khan Cement Co. Ltd. (Khairpur Project)

Allied received one of the biggest single order from D.G.Khan Cement forConstruction Equipment worth 11.67 Million Dollars. The total machines in

this deal are Twenty Three in number and consist of three Front Shovels

385-C which are the largest Front Shovel in Caterpillar Family , Wheel

Loaders 988H, Off Highway Trucks 775-E ,Track Type Tractors D9R,

Track Type Tractor D8R & Wheel Loaders 966H.

These machines will fulfill the new DGKCC (Kalar Khahar) factory's entire

raw material handling requirement for producing around 6800 tons/day

cement.

Best way Cement Limited

Allied also received the order from Best way Cement of Caterpillar Largest

Front Shovels to be used as their main production equipment for new facility

it consists of three Front Shovels/Excavator 385-C ,this reflects the

confidence of customer on our brand "Caterpillar".

Lucky Cement (Karachi Project)

Allied has supplied Four units of Track Type Tractor model D8R and Two

Units of Wheel Loader 980GII to Lucky Cement. Four units of Wheel

Loader model 966H has also shipped for customer's new Karachi plant.

Habib Rafiq (Pvt.) Ltd.

Allied has sold fourteen units of Motor Grader Model 140H and Four units

of Wheel Loader model 938GII to Habib Rafiq (Pvt.) Ltd., These machinesare being used by the customer on various ongoing road construction

projects in Pakistan.

Infrastructure of Organization

Setup

Headquarter at Karachi, Allied also has full service regional branch in

Lahore. The regional branch in Lahore follows out the following

dimensions.

Administration Department

This department involves the functions of human resources, recruitment of

new employees, develop the plans and make strategies to achieve the

organizational goals. It co-ordinates the over all activities of organization.

Finance Department

This department involves the financial operations of the organizations.

Basically, it deals in the expenditures rising and financial transactions of the

organization. This department manages the finance for organization.

Inventory Control Department

This department involves the mandatory functions of inventory maintenance.

It includes the functions regarding stock keeping like updating the stock.

Allied regional office at Lahore is not directly linked with the Caterpillar as

the purchasing functions perform the headquarter at Karachi.

Sales Department

This department mainly deals with the selling operations of organizations

and doing such jobs like marketing and monitoring quality management so

that to fulfill the customer demands.

This department assists the Allied customers by providing all the facilities

regarding after sales and services. It comprises of a well-equipped lab and

technical staff expertise.
