Families at St Giles are looking at the topic of ‘The Kingdom of
God’. The activities and resources have been included in the
covering email to this news sheet.
‘God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his
face to shine upon us; That thy way may be known upon
earth, thy saving health among all nations.’
Psalm 67: 1-2
The Big Church Read in Northampton
In the coming week, we’re invited to read Part 1: In the
Beginning… which covers chapters 1 to 4.
How do I join in?
I. Try to put some regular time in your diary so that you
can read the book thoughtfully rather than in a
rushed way.
II. You can get a weekly email if you sign up on the Big
Church Read webpage.
III. Online worship services will use this material on Sundays and homegroups will look at the
videos and use the study notes.
IV. You can form a ‘pop up’ group or small reading group for these 2 months.
V. We’ll have a Wednesday evening hub (see below) to share the material and pray together.
How do I get a copy?
You’ll need to move quickly!
All things new" is now available to buy from St Andrews at a bargain price of £7.99+£1 P&P.
Please don’t buy from Amazon or Eden books! St Andrews have invested in the promotion and
publicity and are providing the recordings and study materials free of charge and have offered
this reduced price to Northampton churches. To buy and to follow the series, go to https://
thebigchurchread.co.uk/allthingsnew/
Why are we doing this now?
We sense it is time to come together, to seek God and to allow Him to lead us
into new things. This vision is shared by church leaders all around Northampton.
It’s an invitation to read scripture together, talk about it, pray about it and be
led by the Spirit in 2021. The pandemic has brought huge change but it is also
a big opportunity for the world to change, for the church to change, for a
revival and renewal to come.
We sense this just might be the time for God to reshape His church for the things He is doing. This
book takes us back to the Big Story of God and provides a catalyst for our thinking and a space
for conversation and prayer. Please join in and be part of the conversation!
Wednesday evening Hub
Not yet in a small group or home group?
We are opening The Hub, a home for all who would like to share and encourage each other as
we immerse ourselves in the greatest story ever told. Come and join in. Everyone is welcome.
Every Wednesday for 7 weeks from 10th February-24th March. Zoom room opens at 7.30pm,
sessions start at 7.45pm. You can book via ChurchSuite or click here. You will receive a welcome
email with Zoom log in details. We do need people to book so that we can make arrangements
to fit the numbers - hence holding back the Zoom details for the booking email.
