Agricultural SystemsAdvanced Drivetrain Solutions
With more than a century of knowledge
in the agricultural market, Dana offers proven
products and unmatched capabilities.
PRODUCTIVITY
EFFICIENCY
Dana serves as a global supplier of Spicer drivetrains designed for the unique demands of agricultural
vehicles. Each drivetrain component is tested and manufactured to meet customers’ specific needs.
Spicer® AxlesBuilt for agricultural vehicles with engine horsepower from 95 to 360, Spicer front drive axles are engineered with optional wet service brakes to enable high-speed transport.
Product offerings include:n Planetary axlesn Planetary suspended axles
Spicer® DriveshaftsSpicer driveshafts are durable enough to work reliably on uneven ground under heavy loading conditions. Ranging from 400 to 15,000,000 Nm, each Spicer driveshaft reflects more than a century of innovation. Dana continuously develops new designs, materials, and processes for our driveshafts to provide more power, greater efficiency, and better overall performance.
Product offerings include:n Spicer Life Series® driveshafts
n Spicer® Compact™ Series driveshafts
n Spicer® Wing® Series driveshafts
n Spicer® 10™ Series driveshafts
Spicer ® axles are engineered to deliver maximum performance along with low-cost service and maintenance.
Spicer® driveshafts help agricultural machines work faster to maximize productivity.
Drivetrain Systems for Agricultural Vehicles With a full line of Spicer® brand products designed specifically for agricultural vehicles,
customers can look to Dana for both innovation and design flexibility. Dana develops technologies
that increase crop yields, improve harvesting efficiency, and comply with evolving emissions
standards, while reducing overall operating costs and enhancing operator safety.
Spicer® Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS)Spicer CTIS provides the highest level of mobility by optimizing tire pressure to the working environment. When working either on- or off-road, it enables farmers to adjust tire pressure to match conditions. CTIS technology allows for an optimized tire pressure setting customized to terrain type, which lessens soil compaction and improves crop yield. Plus, the system reduces downtime associated with tire malfunctions. Our limp home feature keeps tires inflated in puncture situations so vehicles can return to the service area and avoid in-field repairs.
Spicer CTIS Benefits include:
Reduced fuel consumption
Safe, stable drive at optimum speed
Tire pressure adjustment from the cab while machine is moving
Greater tread deflection
Less tire wear
Rapid inflate/deflate capability for enhanced productivity
Longer tire life
Reduced ground pressure and footprint depth
With the rapid inflate/deflate
capability of Spicer ® CTIS,
farms can produce higher
crop yields while enhancing
productivity.
As farm tractors and field equipment
become larger and heavier, soil
compaction is becoming a more
significant consideration.

Spicer® PowerBoost® Hydraulic-Hybrid SystemThe Spicer® PowerBoost® hydraulic-hybrid system captures and stores otherwise wasted energy from braking and other functions to provide an additional source of hybrid power, supplementing the diesel engine. Advanced system controls ensure that the engine and hybrid system work in tandem to operate at optimum efficiency, while also providing additional power on demand for working tasks. With fuel savings of up to 40%, improved machine productivity, and reduced maintenance, the technology substantially reduces total cost of ownership (TCO).
1 Spicer® PowerBoost® Hub – Powering Vehicle Efficiency Through a Hub of Innovation
The Spicer® PowerBoost® Hub is an advanced mechatronic control unit (MCU) that intelligently manages energy from engine, braking or other sources to provide primary or supplementary hydraulic power – or a combination of both – to maximize overall machine efficiency and productivity.

3 High Pressure Cell
4 Spicer® Hydrostatic Continuously Variable Transmission
5 Hydrostatic Motors
PowerBoost uses its pressure cells to capture wasted energy, which is used to power the vehicle.
