New Delhi: The Indian Agriculture Ministryalong with the US Agency for InternationalDevelopment (USAID) launched the secondphase of the "Feed the Future India-TriangularTraining Program", to provide agriculturetrainings to 1,500 agricultural professionals

across Africa and Asia.

The countries participated include Cambodia,Afghanistan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Mongolia,Lao PDR, Liberia, Kenya, Vietnam, Malawi,Ghana, Rwanda, Mozambique, DemocraticRepublic of Congo, Sudan, Tanzania, Ugandaand Botswana.

“The impact assessments carried out for the㾀�rst phase of the programme generatedpositive feed-back. The US is thus, expanding

it to seventeen more countries. Our participation in the programme displays our softpower,” said Shobhana K Pattanayak, Agriculture Secretary at the launch.

Three countries including Liberia, Kenya and Malawi were provided training in the 㾀�rstphase of the programme, funded by USAID and jointly implemented by India’s NationalInstitute of Agricultural Extension Management.

“This exciting new program marks not only a signi㾀�cant step forward for the US-Indiabilateral partnership, but reinforces our commitment to work together as global partners,"said U.S. Ambassador Richard R. Verma at the event.

The program will train agricultural professionals in farming practices like agriculturalmarketing, and dairy management.
