On behalf of K-State Athletics, I want to thank you for your support in what was another record-setting year for K-State Athletics and the Ahearn Fund. I am continually amazed by the generosity of the K-State family and your commitment to helping continue our vision of being A Model Intercollegiate Athletics Program. The unrestricted dollars given by our Ahearn Fund members continue to be the life-blood of K-State Athletics. Thanks to the support of our Ahearn Fund members world-wide, a record $17.6 million in Annual Fund gifts were contributed to K-State Athletics in 2014-15, while Ahearn Fund membership reached a record 10,330 members from all 50 states in support of the Wildcats.

Our student-athletes continue to raise the bar as K-State teams had a banner year, both on the playing field and in the classroom. The 2014-15 year was, highlighted by junior Akela Jones winning the NCAA Heptathlon title while also being named the National Field Athlete of the Year. Other accomplishments from the 2014-15 year include:

• Fifth straight bowl appearance in football and third NCAA berth in volleyball in the last four years.• Women’s basketball improved its record by eight wins from 2013-14 and earned a WNIT bid in Coach

Jeff Mittie’s first season.• Recorded second straight and third victory at home over KU in the last five years in men’s basketball,

among five wins over top 25 RPI teams.• Casie Maxwell named Big 12 Coach of the Year after leading equestrian team to a runner-up finish

at the Big 12 Championships.• Third-place finish at the Big 12 Rowing Championships.• Overall 8-5 record against the Jayhawks in head-to-head competition.• Big series wins over KU, Big 12 Champion and College World Series qualifier TCU, Super Regional

participant Missouri State and Baylor as Coach Hill’s young baseball team improved to sixth in the conference.

• Launched women’s soccer program, hiring Mike Dibbini as head coach.

Academically, the Wildcats saw 82 student-athletes graduate in the 2014-15 academic year, with 514 named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. K-State also led the Big 12 in APR scores in five sports (Football, Men’s Golf, Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country).

The 2014-15 year also saw the completion of the Vanier Family Football Complex, marking a total of $195 million of comprehensive facility improvements completed in the past 4 years. Your support is needed now more than ever as we continue to provide A World-Class Student-Athlete Experience for all of our 430-plus K-State student-athletes. As you consider your 2016 annual Ahearn Fund gift, please know that every dollar makes an impact. The Ahearn Fund staff looks forward to answering any questions that you may have regarding your membership in the Ahearn Fund, seating and/or parking and would be honored to visit with you in person. We look forward to the 2015-16 season, and with your support, achieving our vision of being A Model Intercollegiate Athletics Program.

The 2014-15 academic year was another terrific step toward our vision of A Model Intercollegiate Athletics Program as K-State continues to set a national standard for excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

Wildcat student-athletes scored record-high marks across the board in the latest NCAA APR ratings, which included five teams recording Big 12-leading marks, as well as seeing a total of 82 student-athletes earn degrees and 125 earn Academic All-Big 12 status.

Our student-athletes continue to turn in Championship Athletic Performances as evidenced by the department highlights listed below.

• NCAA Tournament appearance in volleyball.• A WNIT appearance for women’s basketball under

first-year coach Jeff Mittie.• Akela Jones won a national title in the heptathlon

to lead the women’s team to a ninth-place NCAA Outdoor finish.

PHASE III & IIIB: VANIER COMPLEX AND NORTH STADIUM PROJECT

COMPLETING THE BOWLContinuing the momentum from the Vanier Family Football Complex, K-State Athletics officially launched the public campaign for the next step in the transformation of Bill Snyder Family Stadium. In addition to completing the bowl, Phase IIIB will house a permanent visiting team locker room, which will move from its temporary spot within Vanier, opening up the mezzanine space above the Strength and Performance area providing more usable space for K-State Student-Athletes. Continuing K-State Athletics’ commitment to fiscal responsibility, the department will once again depend on individual donors throughout Wildcat Nation to reach the total campaign goal of $15 million and enable construction to begin in December with desired

completion in time for the 2016 football season. The entire project will be funded without incurring any long term debt and without any state tax or university funds. If you are interested in more information or want to make a gift towards the Phase IIIB project, please visit the Master Plan website at w w w . k s t a t e s p o r t s .com/masterplan or contact an Ahearn Fund Representative at 888.232.9047.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT THAT I MAKE MY PLEDGE AND SEND IN AT LEAST 25% OF MY CONTRIBUTION BY MARCH 1, 2016?

Meeting the March 1, 2016 deadline helps the staff provide the best possible customer service, helps ensure fairness and enables the staff to deliver the fiscal accountability you deserve. By indicating your intent to renew your Ahearn Fund membership by March 1, you guarantee retention of your football seating and parking location, provided you meet the minimum contribution level for the seating and parking area, renew your tickets and pay the balance of your pledge by June 15. March 1 is also the date which Priority Points are calculated for football seating and parking upgrades.

Additionally, having pledges in by March 1 helps the department accurately project revenues, which assist with the budgeting process for the coming athletic year. This process begins in March with a completed budget published in late June. WHY IS MY TOTAL GIFT DUE BY JUNE 15, 2016?

To maintain the department’s goal for fiscal responsibility and accountability, it is important that we can accurately project revenue, not only planning, but also for budgeting purposes. The budget process begins in March each year and the books are closed on June 30.

Once the fiscal year ends in June, an annual report detailing how your gifts were utilized will be prepared and distributed to all Ahearn Fund members. Of course, you may complete your pledge in full at any time prior to the June 15 deadline.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T MAKE MY PLEDGE BY MARCH 1? OR MY TOTAL GIFT BY JUNE 15?

It is important to meet deadlines established in this membership guide to ensure that you retain your current seats and parking. If you miss these deadlines, your seats and parking will be placed on our open seating/parking list and if there is a request that matches any open seats, those who have met the deadline will be moved into the open seats and/or parking. This is critical to ensure fair treatment for Ahearn Fund members and season ticket holders and giving those members who meet each deadline the opportunity to improve their seats and/or parking.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES TO PAYING MY GIFT BY MARCH 1?

Points are credited only as dollars are received. Completing your gift by March 1 means that you will get Priority Point credit for the entire amount of the gift, which could improve your seats and/or parking. Points will be calculated on March 1 and those totals will be used for football seating and parking upgrades. Points calculated on June 15 will be used for men’s and women’s basketball requests.

CAN I PAY MY AHEARN FUND GIFT IN INSTALLMENTS?

Yes, you can make monthly payments toward your Ahearn Fund pledge. Equal monthly payments can be charged to your credit card on the date you specify. An important note if you are setting up a monthly payment schedule for the first time: please make sure that 25% of the priority seating donation is paid by March 1 and the balance is paid by June 15. We will work to accommodate your requests in regards to your payment schedules.

CAN I JOIN THE AHEARN FUND IF I DON’T HAVE SEASON TICKETS?

Yes, the Ahearn Fund is K-State’s National Fund for Student-Athlete Excellence. Being an Ahearn Fund member, at any level, helps the department to achieve it’s vision of being A Model Intercollegiate Athletics Program. Annual gifts to the Ahearn Fund are the lifeblood of Kansas State Athletics. Those dollars allow the department to provide A World-Class Student-Athlete Experience, maintain and provide on-going facility upgrades, attract and retain great coaches and enable a national recruiting reach. At the same time, we pledge to operate in a fiscally responsible and transparent manner.

HOW CAN I MAKE A REQUEST FOR A PARKING SPOT AT BILL SNYDER FAMILY STADIUM?

The Ahearn Fund is proud to offer three parking options for members of the Ahearn Fund: Reserved, VIP and RV parking. In order to obtain a parking space, the request must be submitted to the Ahearn Fund by March 1. Requests can be made via mail, over the phone or online at [email protected] or by calling the Ahearn Fund at 888.232.9074. Requests are reviewed and fulfilled each year based on availability and Priority Point order.
