Module description:

The first day will be dedicated to the kick-off, on-boarding of executive sponsors and the co-creation and selection of the prototyping project.

Day two will begin by exploring the opportunities and challenges of AI for the financial sector and beyond. We will begin examining the building blocks underlying AI (big data, machine learning, robotics, automation, blockchain, etc.) and exploring the future potential of AI.

Challenge objectives:

• Create a functional prototype of each team’s project by using lean start-up methodology and principles to verify business model assumptions

• Apply findings to a concrete project throughout the program

• Verify a business model and create a prototype that will be presented at the CCX Forum 2020

Challenge description:

AI Prototyping Challenge is an experiential workshop that brings the program to life as participants will gradually test assumptions in view of building a working ”demo” of their idea throughout the program.

The Challenge will expose participants to a variety of prototyping methods and related tools, as well as lean start-up / agile methodologies, including a FabLab. The Prototyping Challenge is structured so that participants may advance on their ”demo” throughout the program.

We will target some of the leading financial services disruptors, with the objective of meeting twelve companies. In addition, a cocktail reception will be organized in each location, with representatives from local communities involved directly and indirectly in AI transformation.

Dr. Michael Wu is one of the world’s premier authorities on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data science, and behavioral economics. He is currently the Chief AI Strategist at PROS, an AI-powered solutions provider.

His research spans many areas, including customer experience, CRM, online influence, gamification, digital transformation, AI, etc. His R&D won him the recognition as an Influential

Leader by CRM Magazine along with Mark Zuckerberg and other industry giants.

Prior to industry, Michael received his triple major undergraduate degree in Applied Math, Physics, and Molecular & Cell Biology; and his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley’s Biophysics program, where he used machine learning to model visual processing within the human brain

Tsukasa Makino is the Senior Research Officer at the Tokio Marine Research Institute, as well as the Manager at IT Planning Dept. and Government & External Relations Dept. of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.
