Vision of AIESEC:

“Peace and the fulfillment of humankind’s potential” is the vision that drives the organization. AIESEC believes that the

best way to achieve this is by first developing talent in individuals and thus inside companies, organizations and our

communities. It is individuals who will positively impact society and create the change that will bring us closer to our vision

for the world. AIESEC creates its positive impact by conducting several events through various social projects.

GLOBAL VILLAGE [July 29, 2011 Jamshedpur]:

Global Village is an event that involves interns from various countries under one roof, each of them

displaying the culture of the country they belong to, each of them trying their own bit to erase the

boundaries we’ve built over time. It is a celebration of the diversity so prevalent in this world we live in.

The event not only allows interns to gain insight into the cultures from the countries and territories around

them, it also builds up their awareness and pride around their own backgrounds in a fun and engaging

way.

We had nine interns from five countries – USA, UK, Tunisia, China and Russia who participated in our

Global Village. It was a great festival of colors, cuisines and cultures and the people get a chance to meet

and interact with the foreign nationals, who make AIESEC a truly global organization. The theme of

Global Village is “Breaking boundaries, creating bonds”.

All the 09 interns involved in, Friends of AIESEC and our Organizing Committee were instrumental in

organizing this event. We had a turn-out of more than 200 students from different schools of Jamshedpur

along with their parents. For the first time we had conducted Global Village outside IIT Kharagpur and the

response was really good.
