Current Profile:

Currently working as Associate General Manager – Rolled Products from Feb-2013.

- Responsible for complete Operation & Maintenance of 4-Hi Hot Rolling Mill, 2 Cold Rolling Mills, Finishing Lines and associated equipment’s.

- Achieving Production of different grades of CRP and HRP as per Business Plan of 52000 per annum with a product mix so as achieve the BP premium.

- Production of value added products for VSSC / DMRL / Navy so as to improve the overall product portfolio.

- Complete ownership of Safety, Quality and Cost of Production and P&L for the SBU.

A keen planner & strategist with expertise in planning & controlling the production operations. Well versed with quality standards like ISO.

Demonstrated abilities in achieving cost savings across assignments, minimizing performance bottlenecks for achieving high productivity with maximization of men, material & machine. Resourceful at strategizing techniques for maximum utilization of manpower/ machinery.

Initiated plant improvement initiatives like Asset Optimization, Process scorecard, ISO compliance, 5S and Safety.

Production of value of products like Alloy Rods 6201, 8176 and 1100 grade.

Successful casting and rolling of Hard Alloys like AA2219, AA2014, AA2519, AA7004, AlMg6, AA5086 and RD40M for VSSC, DMRL, Army, Navy and Brahmos application.

Achieving production records by continuously improving availability, utilization and team building.

Holds the distinction of completing various projects like:

Reduction of Stub to Carbon drop below 120 MV. Reusing of damaged clads for reducing the COP by Rs. 1.5 Crore in 2009-10 and 2010-11. Reducing the manufacturing cost of Rodded Anode from 645 Rs/Anode in 2008-09 to 520 Rs/Anode in 2009-

10 and 2010-11 by taking various initiatives saving Rs. 3.5 Crore.

Played a key role in installation & commissioning of Ingot Casting Machines, Furnace, Cranes, and Wire Rod Mills etc.

Demonstrated excellence in the Successful Liquidation of blocked Inventory (Anode Butt & Bath) which resulted in a cash inflow of Rs. 40 Crores in first 1 year as Rodding Head.

Successfully achieved Zero Lost Time injury from 2008 to 2011 in Anode Rodding Plant.

Identified as “STAR of the Business”, in Oct-07 by the Company.

Project Management

Worked as team member in Erection & Commissioning of Ingot Casting Lines, Furnace, EOT Cranes, Cooling Water Pump House and other equipments of Cast House during Aug 2004 – March 2005.

Project Incharge for Erection & Commissioning of Wire Rod Mills in Cast House during Oct 2006 to Sep 2007.

Conceptualizing & Leading teams for implementing projects, annual improvement plans for production reengineering, technology absorption projects for expansion and new products including major installations like Bath Crushing & Handling Plant, Belt Conveyors, Dedustings, and Blasting Machines etc.) during 2008 - 2010.

Production Planning Control (PPC)

Leading a team of 48 Executives, 700 Graduates/Workmen and contract workman’s for achieving the monthly business plan of Slab Production, Rolling, Quality, Cost and Safety.

Planning day-to-day activities, production schedules, implementing quality tools for achieving of monthly production targets.

Strategic planning of complete manufacturing operations & ensuring smooth functioning of the plant.

Appraising the prevalent production systems/ processes, identifying loopholes if any and undertaking result-oriented measures for alleviating them.
