Striplac THE SUCCESS STORY ...

Dear Mrs Troska, the end of

the year is also a time for personal reflection. What

was your personal highlight of 2014?

SILVIA TROSKA: I am particularly proud that we managed to continue the suc-

cess story of Striplac. Of course, the intro-duction of Striplac mobile with Paris Hilton

at the Beauty Düsseldorf trade fair was a very special day, but the positive feedback I get from

professionals in their studios also makes me and my team very proud.

Mrs Troska, you have al-ready established several “true” innovations on the cosmetics market: the first acid-free gel, the first hand and nail care system, the first LED curing gel. What makes Striplac so unique, in your opinion?

ST: With Striplac, we really are talking about a “true” innovation. For me it was important to develop a nail polish with the colour intensity and high-shine finish of a

gel which is also easy to remove and can be easily used by everyone, not just profes-

sionals.

Mr Schäberle, in your role as Artistic Director, can you tell us how the

new technology has revolution-ised studios?

FRANK SCHÄBERLE: At first, I was per-

sonally

n o t sure how the studios would react to this revolution-ary product. After all, Stri-plac primarily appeals to cus-tomers who don’t want false nails or longlasting UV nail polish. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many salons decided to include Striplac as a service they offer. The studios can profit from the sale of Striplac products. I know of a few salons who make our “Self Service Bar” available, whereby customers can paint their nails themselves with Striplac at a reduced price.

Many nail designers also support my hypothesis that particularly new customers visit the studio in order to find out about Striplac.

Wasn’t it quite risky to make Striplac directly available to the public?

ST: The application process is very simple. We wanted

to give women the opportunity to create a pro-fessional look themselves at home, too.

FS: Over the past few years nails have be-come THE hot topic. Celebs like Katy Per-ry, Rihanna and Zooey Deschanel have brought nail art back to the world’s red carpet. Particularly younger custom-ers are becoming more and more professional. They watch videos online, share tips and tricks on Facebook and meet up with friends to try out new colours and nail art.

ST: A similar

phenomenon is pro-minent in other parts of the

beauty industry, too. For example, there are many who would only trust

their own hairdresser to colour their hair. Others are able to obtain perfect results at

home with innovative products. We are open to both target groups.

What’s next for Striplac? Where is Striplac available?

ST: Today Striplac is available across the world: in studios, in many parfu-

meries and department stores. But un-fortunately there are still always custo-

mers who have not yet tried Striplac or who can’t find it in their area. Others have already had bad experiences with acetone soluble UV nail polishes without our Striplac peel-off technology. With this in mind, we can certainly win over many more customers with Striplac.

FS: We are convinced of the benefits of Striplac and have long been searching for a way to bring it closer to our target group. We have many campaigns at fashion events and trade fairs. However, we have decided against a me-

dia campaign. We’re not under any illusions. Advertising doesn’t have the same effect

today as it did ten years ago. Explaining a new technology, and particularly

application, is very difficult to do via classic media channels.

ST: For this reason, we are starting an initiative on QVC Germany begin-

ning the 7th October. As Ar-tistic Director, Mr Schä-

berle is the

right person for getting our product across to German consumers live on TV.

FS: When appearing on TV it will be very important to explain the simple application and to make Striplac even more po-pular. Many brands, for example Bare Minerals, have become well known through TV shopping and

attained worldwide interest. The QVC price will not be any lower than the studio RRP prices.

ST: Our primary goal is to get more consumers excited about Striplac and thus to bring even more customers to our sales partners.

A live TV appearance, that’s very exciting. Mr Schäberle, it’s great that you, as the creative head of alessandro, will be lea-ding the show. How do you feel about your first appearance on national TV?

FS: I’m nervous of course, but also very excited! I’ve been passionate about alessandro for years and now I have

the chance to introduce our brand to a wi-der audience.

So, will the 7th October be a special day for you, Mr Schäberle?

FS: Funnily enough, it’s actually my birth-day. That can only be a lucky date for my first live appearance. My family will be

watching too.

ST: I’m sure you will win over the viewers, Mr Schäberle.

STEP 1 Mould the nail and file into shape – buff the surface.

STEP 2 Lay the desired ornament onto the nail surface with Sticky Gel and nail art brush (ref. no.: 06-665) – cure under UV light for 120 seconds (60 seconds for LED). Do not wipe away the inhibition layer!

STEP 3 Press the foil onto the cured Sticky Gel, matte side down, and pull off in one quick movement. Then seal with Top Gloss Gel.

STEP 1 Paint nails as usual.

The show is the largest international trade fair for beauty, hair, scents and spas in the Middle East and took place in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. With a 60 square metre stand alessandro presented itself to visitors from around the world, particularly from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Czech RepublicOPENING OF THE ALESSANDRO EXPRESS NAIL STUDIO IN PRAGUEAlessandro Czech Republic is proud to announce the opening of the alessandro Express Nail Studio in Pra-gue on 1 May 2014. The studio is situated on the first floor of the OC Nový Smíchov shopping centre. There are three manicure tables and a pedicure lounge. Re-servations can be made online at www.alessandrostudio.cz or over the phone. But most customers simply pop in spontaneously for an alessandro treatment. On 27 May it was time. The lucky winners headed to Ibiza from Cologne in the early morning and were awaited there by Silvia Troska. 4 fantastic days of sightseeing, beaches and of course,

shopping, ensued. Silvia Troska, who knows the island very well, showed the ladies the special hot-spots and cool beach clubs, but also dreamy places yet to be discovered by tourists. Unique experiences were had:

yoga in the water, lying closed-eyed on the rocks and breathing in the sea air, visiting the hippy market in Las Dalias and enjoying the sunset with a bottle of wine at the Sunset Ashram.

So if you fancy a professional and very sunny challenge, Silvia Troska would surely be delighted!

By the way: The island offers everything except a good nail studio.

BERLIN IS CALLINGOur youngest and most colourful academy opened its gates in September 2014, located in the heart of Berlin not far from the KaDeWe and the Ku’ Damm. alessandro´s concept of 1000 colours is also the motto of the room´s interior design. Perfectly equipped with a shop, treatment room and training centre, Head of the Academy Cora Speck-Zielke looks forward to giving the colourful capital city a new hand and nail care hotspot. The Head of Training Xenia Schulz can already look back on years of experience. “The highest quality, customer-orientation and above all teamwork are especially important. Each person can only be as good as the team supporting them”, summarises Ms Speck-Zielke aptly.

CHEMNITZ: THE CITY OF THE MODERNClassic and modern – that’s how Chemnitz sees itself, and therefore goes hand in hand with alessandro’s corporate con-cept. Our new academy is just 10 minutes away from the city centre on foot, at Rosenplatz 1 a. The surroundings are just as nice as the name suggests – a fitness and health centre – perfect for alessandro. Our own shop completes the concept. Head of Academy and Training Sandra Uhlig adds proudly: “Since October we cover 170 square metres and be able to offer instead of 4 at least 6 seminar places.” Her team is excited about the challenge and about the new colleague who is joining the team now.
