• Marion County Emergency Management– EOC Drill on 7 May 01 @ 1330

– Emergency Manager’s meeting (Marion, Polk, Yamhill) on 16 May 01. Time/Location TBA

– Really big on SSTV!

– Want to be able to fly their officials around

• Linn County Emergency Management– Jim Howell, Linn Co Emergency Manager

Planning– Events:

• Field Day 2001– 821 set to be deployed to the 4-H Center in Salem area

– Provide training to CAP members on use of 821

– Public visibility for CAP

– Using 821 for training will ensure that any problems can be identified and corrected before being needed on a mission

– Some Local / State Officials are expected to attend

– SSTV would also be a plus!



Planning (cont)– More accurate Repeater Map for ORWG– Identify what repeaters are working/not working– Work w/Capt. Gutzka to upgrade repeaters for

NTIA compliance– Work w/ ES, Logistics, & Transportation to create

– Training classes for CAP resources• 821 (currently, only 2 qualified people in ORWG)• SSTV• New NAT radios as well as current radios

many agencies• County Sheriffs, SAR Teams, & Emergency Managers• Local agencies• State of Oregon (OSP, OEM, Legislature, & more)

Some priorities from the ES sideSome priorities from the ES side

1. Tech specs to have the GPS's installed with an output plug to feed the data for APRS.

2. At least 2 aircraft equipped with external antenna for APRS or SlowScan

3. At least 2 aircraft equipped with APRS by the July Eval.

4. A revamped SlowScan box for the Aircraft & Ground unit that is portable and Bullet proof to broken wires etc.

5. Airborne repeater (1 each)
