Launched in 2015, PostFold is the brainchild of business partners Aashray Thatai and Ashish Gurnani. The two met while attending Northeastern Univer-sity Boston, where Gurnani was studying Marketing and Finance and Thatai Mechanical Engineering. Upon returning home to India, they soon realized that as young professionals entering the work force their clothing options were limited. The choices were either low-quality, cheap fashion through online markets or the larger, more established brands selling at much higher prices and very little in between.

So with their college degrees, some experience in e-commerce and a close connection to an apparel manufacturer in India, Thatai and Gurnani set out to challenge the status quo of e-commerce with PostFold.

PostFold is built on the key principles of offering men and women, design driven fashion, responsibly made with top quality fabrics at affordable prices. With a direct-to-consumer business model, PostFold has captured hearts, and wallets, of likeminded Millennials that are looking for fashion that can easily transition from work to dinner without breaking the bank.

Each item that PostFold designs is meant to be timeless and enhance the consumer’s existing wardrobe. With a focus on quality the team at PostFold looks to premium fabrics and top manufacturing processes to ensure longevity, a key reason the company uses fabrics made with American-grown Supima cotton. The premium, long-extra staple cotton is known for its softness, strength and color retention.

From t-shirts and polos to hoodies and jackets, and everything in-between, PostFold is continuously adding product categories to build a full lifestyle collection for men and women. Two key styles that continue to ring the reg-ister for the brand are the PostFold men’s SUPIMA® Polo and its women’s SUPIMA® relaxed fit t-shirt. Both made with 100% Supima cotton, these classic items are a key addition to any closet.

Primarily sold throughout India via their website, PostFold products are also available through Amazon. The brand looks to expand into other markets, with an eye towards opening a brick and mortar store in the future. Supima joined an impressive list of brand leaders including LVMH, Kering, Swarovski, Chloé, Mercedes Benz, Groupe Lafayette and American Vintage, to name a few, in sustaining and celebrating creativity and talent from up-and-coming designers and photographers.

As part of its branding and art activation, Supima collaborated with leading French artist, Adrien Vescovi, to create an exclusive installation as a stage set during the fashion presentation. In partnership with West Point/Gryphon, Supima was able to supply fabric and have Vescovi transform it into a one-of-kind work of art that was the backdrop for the incredible fashion collections hitting the runways.

Supima cotton t-shirts were also showcased by top French brand American Vintage. A longtime user of Supima’s incredibly soft cotton for their t-shirts, American Vintage organized an eco-dying workshop using Supima tees. Using avocado as the dying pigment, American Vintage treated attendees to a low-impact, sustainable dying clinic throughout the event.

As the official partner of the Hyères Festival, the winners from this year’s festival will receive Supima cotton fabrics to create looks that will be presented during the 2019 Supima Design Lab event.

Back in February, Supima had the opportunity to showcase Supima fabrics to five of the ten finalists during Premiere Vision: Dita Enikova, Doi/Anazama/Toda; Emilia Kuurila; Tina Schwizgebel-Wang and Tsung Chien Tang all chose to use fabrics crafted with American-grown, extra-long staple cotton in their designs for the Festival de Hyères runway presentation. Schwizgebel-Wang was awarded the Chloé prize and Doi/Anazama/Toda received the Honorable Mention from the Jury.

The 2019 Supima Design Lab will be held during Paris Fashion week in September. Supima will celebrate the second installment of the Supima Design Lab where in addition to the Festival de Hyères finalist presentation and a group of leading international designers, Supima will un-veil the winner and finalists from its annual Supima Design Competition held during New York Fashion week.
