Sherlock Holmes has never really been out of the public eyesince he rose to fame at the end of the nineteenth century.

Some of the current mania could possibly be attributed toBBCsSherlock, CBSElementary and GuyRitchiesSherlockHolmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

It is a mystery worthy of Sherlock himself why is he asaddictive to us as his drug of choice?

The addiction may not be explainable, but the symptomsare easy to recognise. I call it Holmes Mania.
