Sharing the Gospel Sometimes it's hard to give of your time, or your toys, or even to share your friends. Sometimes you want to be selfish and keep everything for yourself. This is not what Jesus did. He kept sharing God's love all the time. He shared so much that he even gave his life for us by dying on the cross. Jesus wants us to share like he did, to give of ourselves even when we want to be selfish. Prayer Heavenly Father, give me strength to share your love.

Offertory As The Deer Longs Hurd As the deer longs for running streams, so I long, so I long, so I long for you. A-thirst my soul for you the God who is my life! When shall I see, when shall I see, see the face of God? Echoes meet as deep is calling unto deep, over my head, all your mighty waters, sweeping over me. Continually the foe delights in taunting me: “Where is God, where is your God?” Where, O where, are you? Defend me, God, send forth your light and your truth, they will lead me to your holy mountain, to your dwelling place. Then I shall go unto the altar of my God. Praising you, O my joy and gladness, I shall praise your name. Mass parts Belmont Mass – Walker Holy, Holy Memorial acclamation Great Amen Lamb of God

Anima Christi, sanctifica me. Corpus Christi, salva me. Sanguis Christi, inebria me. Aqua lateris Christi, lava me. Passio Christi, conforta me. O bone Iesu, exaudi me. Intra tua vulnera absconde me. Ne permittas me separari a te. Ab hoste maligno defende me. In hora mortis meae voca me. Et iube me venire ad te, Ut cum Sanctis tuis laudem te in saecula saeculorum. and for the food they need to live. 4. For all those who have no shelter this night,

who dream of a place they might call home. 5. For those who live in silent distress, who wait

for a morning that brings hope. 6. For all who have no power of voice, who look

to us to speak in their name.

Recessional Lord, You Give The Great Commission Rowthorn/ABBOT’S LEIGH “Heal the sick and preach the Word.” Lest the Church neglect its mission, And the Gospel go unheard, Help us witness to Your purpose With renewed integrity, With the Spirit’s gifts empower us For the work of ministry. Lord, You call us to Your service: “In My name baptize and teach.” That the world may trust Your promise, Life abundant meant for each, Give us all new fervor, draw us Closer in community. With the Spirit’s gifts empower us For the work of ministry. Lord, You make the common holy: “This My body, this My blood.” Let us all, for earth’s true glory, Daily lift life heavenward, Asking that the world around us Share your children’s liberty With the Spirit’s gifts empower us For the work of ministry. Lord, You show us love’s true measure: “Father, what they do, forgive.” Yet we hoard as private treasure All that You so freely give. May Your care and mercy lead us To a just society. With the Spirit’s gifts empower us For the work of ministry. Lord, You bless with words assuring: “I am with you to the end.”

Faith and hope and love restoring, May we serve as You intend And, amid the cares that claim us, Hold in mind eternity. With the Spirit’s gifts empower us For the work of ministry.

FROM THE MUSIC MINISTER “BACK TO BASICS” Year of the Eucharist

ANIMA CHRISTI (Soul of My Savior) with the original text in Latin, will be sung at Communion this weekend. It is set to a different tune than for the last 2 weeks. Enjoy practicing your Latin with a translation in the bulletin!

The Latin version of the Anima Christi is

attributed to a variety of authors. However, one thing is clear. It originated in the early 14th century. We know this because Pope John XXII enriched the prayer with indulgences in 1330. Some attribute this prayer to him. However, the most common attribution is to Saint Ignatius of Loyola since it is included in his spiritual exercises. However, this is obviously incorrect, as St. Ignatius of Loyola, was born after Pope John XXII’s indulgence, and it was also found in various earlier prayer books.

The recessional hymn (Lord, You Give the

Great Commission) is set to the same tune as last week’s “God Is Love”.

ABBOT’s LEIGH, is the melody composed

in 1941 for the Religious Broadcasting Department of BBC. Complaints were received about the use of AUSTRIA (tune for the Austrian national hymn) during the time of war. ABBOT’s LEIGH is also named for a village near Bristol, England, where it was composed (Bristol was wartime headquarters for the BBC).

    Prayerfully, Kasia
