(n.) Short for Web log, a blog is a Web page that serves as a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author.

THE HISTORY OF BLOGGING
The modern blog evolved from the online diary.
By 2001, blogging was enough of a phenomenon that how-to manuals began to appear, primarily focusing on technique.
It is estimated that blogging will peak in 2007, leveling off when the number of writers who maintain a personal website reaches 100 million.
WHY BLOG???
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; others function as more personal online diaries.

A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic.

IS IT INTERACTIVE???
YES! You can comment on some blogs! The ability for readers to leave comments in
an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. You can also disable comments OR block
your blog so that only your friends can see it.
IS BLOGGING POPULAR?
As of September 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 106 million blogs.

WHY IS BLOGGING BAD?
Credibility of authors Legal liabilities and other often unforeseen
consequences. The release confidential information. Blogging and defamation. Employees who write about aspects of
their place of employment or their personal lives, and then face loss of employment or other adverse consequences
TIPS FOR BLOGGING
Never offer any personal information Never post inappropriate pictures Assume what you publish on the Web is
permanent. THINK BEFORE YOU POST! Anyone on the Internet can easily print out a
blog or save it to a computer. Use blogging provider sites with clearly
stated terms of use Make sure there is password protection
Keep blogs positive and don't use them for slander or to attack others.
