Allocation

Purpose:

Optimization of the assignment of existing stock to open requirements

The allocation run distributes the currently available stock to due sales ordersaccording to certain calculation logics at a specic time

Pre-requisite:

You have to carry out an allocation run before delivery of any AF materials

Selection: #etermines "hich requirements should participate as "ell as"hich stocks the allocation run should accessRequirement Check: elected orders can be checked for certaincriterias like blocks and excludedGrouping $ %nables to group orders for allocation

Sorting & Override the original sequence of the incoming orders for theallocation processAllocation & the actual allocation of the available stock to the selectedorders takes place according to the chosen allocation logic FIFO or equaldistributionRelease - system checks "hether the minimum quantities that aredened in the release rules could be fullled

'All the above rules need to be con ured and assi ned to A()* t e

Allocation & election

Requirement Selection & o that the allocation type kno"s "hich requirementsshould be allocated+ you must create the rule for the requirements selection, You canonly select sales orders in the selection

Stock Selection & controls "hich stock the allocation run should access to satisfy theabove mentioned requirements,

Access Rule & -ith this access rule+ you specify ho" the system accesses thedatabase to read the individual requirements $ .aterial index+ Direct access (SAPrecommends) / partner index,

Open to Delier! date & 0ndicates "hich date eld of the sales order is accessedduring the requirements selection

Allocation $ (equirementcheck

-ith the aid of the checking rule for the exclusion of sales orders+ you can

exclude orders from the allocation+ "hich you have already selected for anallocation run, This "ay you can prevent+ for example+ orders of credit blockedcustomers from getting the stock that should be used for solvent customers,

There are di1erent criteria and checks available for this,

Allocation & orting

Requirement sort & )sing the sort rules you can sort requirementsand thus override the original sequence in "hich the orders "ereplaced,-hen using the sort sequence remember that the sorting is carriedout rst by elds at header level+ then at item level and nally atschedule line level,

Allocation $ Allocation (ule

• Allocation Rule & 2ontrols ho" system assigns stock to requirementduring allocation run

Requirement date & This is the referencedate of the salesdocument for

allocationpurposes,This isimportant because therequirement stockmapping is based onreference dates eg2onrmed deliverydate+ ordercancellation date /(##

GR Date - This is thereference date of the

future receipt that is tobe considered for the

tock !rioritization can be done by 4 "ays

tock sort rule $ 0t requires a stock sort rule maintained incustomization for prioritizing stock, For example sort stockbased on 5tock type6 in follo"ing prioritization

#ynamic sort prioritization & This determines the point intime until "hen physical stock can be allocated, You enter anumber of days here, 7ased on this+ the system calculates ahorizon "ithin "hich the conrmed date must lie in order toallo" physical stock to be allocated

Allocation$ (eallocation (ule

Re-allocation rule:

)sing the ll&up8re&allocation feature+ you can reserve orders that cannot be allocatedbecause of the current stock8requirement situation until the corresponding release checkrules are fullled, Thus you can make sure that the stock is not available for the coverageof other requirements after a failed release check

2auses already existing allocations 9for example+ reservations: to be included again in anallocation run, The reallocation rule is a combination of reallocation logic+ the allocationevent+ processing of the allocated quantities+ and the .(! status,

Allocation & (elease

You use release check rules to determine "hich quantities are acceptable for your customers

 You can dene (elease (ule for;

• pecic Temporary groups

• pecic customers

Allocation $ Action (ule

Action rule $ )sing 5Action rule6 you make sure that an allocation can take place "henthe release check has failed, The assignments the A(un proposes can be kept "ith help ofthe action rule+ because the A(un "ould other"ise dismiss them due to the failed releaserule

Action & 2ontrols+ "hether the system reaction is given as information+ termination+"arning or error 9A! recommends to use only %:

#eel & #escribes the level "here the release check takes place, 0t could be header item

line item etc$ent % The allocation run event is relevant if the release check has failed, You dene thepermitted values for the allocation run eent in 2ustomizing, The allocation run eventcan be determined internally by the system

Allocata&le 't! - 2ontrols "hether the system should allocate available batch stock tothe requirement "hen the release check has failed
