You really have something to look forward to! Right now, you hold a guide in your hands that will lead you directly to another six months of cultural experiences on a very high level, which we are sure you will enjoy. This year, you will again be able to see Simon Rosenbaum as host of the popular Solisterier at Café Alsion. Also Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, the Southern Jutland Symphony Orchestra, is of course ready with a full range of distinguished concerts. For instance, you can experience a so-called Crime Concert, in which the Danish actor Torben Zeller will be visiting us as narrator, and there will be a CD recording with the popular King’s Singers. The Schaufuss Ballet will visit Alsion with their perhaps most popular performance, Satisfaction, which is based on the music and story of The Rolling Stones. You will also be able to enjoy the passionate opera Tosca, the beautiful Strauss Gala as well as a tribute to Johnny Cash. You can have fun with Danish lifestyle expert Christine Feldthaus, the notorious City Singler, which supposedly have become even cheekier, and with Danish comedian Lars Hjortshøj and his “Danish Collection”. The whole family can experience the one and only Hr. Skæg, known to most Danish children from his television progam on DR1 and Ramasjang. We can also look forward to two exceptional performances: the visit of Wulanmuqi Art Troupe from Inner Mongolia in occasion of the Chinese New Year, and nothing less than a spectacular opening concert of this year’s FolkBaltica Festival with Steffen Brandt, Eivør, Harald Haugaard, Tip Toe Bigband and more. Finally, we can look forward to “Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival” coming to Alsion this year, so you can experience the Festival Orchestra with pianist Fazil Say, who has just been appointed European Cultural Am-bassador. Their visit at Alsion closes with the great NDR Sinfonieorchester with Meastro Herbert Blomstedt as conductor and Peter Zimmermann as violin soloist. So there is plenty to look forward to - and we are looking forward to seeing you!
