All Alstoms wid turbies feature the ALSTOM PURE TORQUETM cocept,

a unique mechanical design that protects the drive train from deec-

tio loads to esure hiher reliabilit. The rotor is mouted o a

fatiue-resistat cast iro hub that trasmits the ravitatioal

load and deection stresses via two sets of bearings to the tower.

Meawhile, the drive shaft elasticall mouted o the frot of

the hub trasfers pure torque (ree arrows below) to the

drive trai free of the stresses ad strais (red arrows

below) that ca arise due to buffeti.

Coping with extremes

TemperaturesBecause the best wid is ofte foud i the harshest climates, Alstom offers

two climate kits. The cold climate pack adds heaters to extend the operating

temperatures from -10C dow to -30C. The hot kit offers special lubricatio ad

bearings to extend the upper permissible ambient temperatures from +40C to

+45C.
