Hong Kong, Dec 16, 2009 Altai Technologies, a carrier-grade Super WiFi equipmentsupplier today announced that the Berjaya Langkawi Resort in Malaysia has deployedAltais Super WiFi Solution for its hotel-wide wireless network. Popup Solutions, aleading system integrator and an Altai Technologies partner, assisted the hotel with thenetwork design and deployment.

The Berjaya Langkawi Resort with its 502 guest rooms is a sprawling 3 km long, 70acres hotel nestled within the Burau Bay area, located in the northern part of LangkawiIsland. The rooms are scattered along the beach and cocooned inside the 5 million yearold native rainforest. The wireless network covers both the inside and outside of all thechalet rooms as well as all hotel facilities, including the ball room, beach area,restaurants, pool area, hotel lobby, childrens playground and many others.

There were many challenges in building this wireless network as it needs to cover alarge area with diverse terrain, such as the beach and the rainforest. Moreover, no tallstructures can be built to facilitate mounting of the access points due to environmentalconcerns. The hotel had tested many types of equipment from different WiFi vendorswithout success, until they tried Altais Super WiFi solution said Frank Lai, CEO of
