In the United States, four children die everyday from child abuse, and 79% of these children were under the age of 4.* Child abuse comes in many forms: physical, emotional, sexual and neglect.

as an exchange club member, you can:

• Educate parents about the benefits of positive parenting through our Believe in the Blue program.

• Educate parents and care givers by distributing information about both Shaken Baby and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

• Pass out blue ribbons – the national symbol for child abuse prevention, to raise funds and create greater public awareness.

• Provide parents with Time Out Teddy brochures that teach positive parenting skills.

• Distribute Time Out Teddy bears to comfort children who have been abused or involved in other stressful situations.

Through community projects such as these and many others, you can make a difference by educating the public about child abuse and raising much-needed funds to help prevent it.

You can also be directly involved as a volunteer at a local Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Center or become a parent aide. Through the parent aide program, more than 778,400 families and 1.8 million children have been helped by The National Exchange Club’s network of more than 75 CAP Centers nationwide.

Visit www.preventchildabuse.com today and help save a child.

Immaturity, lack of parenting skills, unrealistic expectations about children’s behavior and abilities, a parent’s own negative childhood, social isolation, family crises and drug or alcohol problems are all factors that contribute to child abuse.

Together we can protect children and help strengthen families by acknowledging that abuse can and does happen in all types of families.

Be a part of the solution by joining an organization that prevents child abuse every day - the National exchange club.
